One of the biggest club is called the road runners.  They have clubs all over the country and are the source of many runs (even the NYC Marathon)

I'm also almost 2 weeks out.  It's amazing how different the orders of different doctors are.

I'm on a clear liquid diet for the first two weeks; a full liquid diet for the next two weeks, then pureed foods for the following 4 weeks.

I'm jealous you can already eat soft foods.

Topic: RE: Arnot Bariatric - Officially Shutting Down
I was among the last surguries Dr. Grijalva was doing.

I'm in Binghamton and am told that the support group in Vestal is also closing.  I have no idea where to go and I'm concerned.  My surgery was 1/4/11

what I did was google 5k races for my area and one of the websites was a runners club. I went to their website and they listed races for the year. But check frequently because some organizations haven't listed theirs yet but the large yearly ones should be on it.
Hope it helps

Cindy - our support group will probably be participating in The Freihofer's Run for Women. You don't have to run. I walked it last year. It in Albany on June 4th this year. I will likely be posting a link on the group page as it gets closer and we can start registering. There is also a community walk after the race that a bunch of us did. BTW - no men in the race. Men can join us for the walk.

There is a place on Wolf Road called Fleet Feet (sneaker/running store). Check them out. They have schedules and I think they also have a training program.

Topic: revision surgeon in New York???
I am on a quest for a surgeon that is comfortable and successful at doing specifically the proximal ru-n-y to full ds revision.  I was looking into Greenbaum but he is out of the running for me.  Thanks all.

I can totally understand your frustration, but PLEASE try to utilize this extra time to incorporate good habits and begin or continue a high protein diet and excise, even if its minimal.

I wish you luck!

Hang in there, good things come to people who wait.
