I am very upset and crushed... Got home and read a letter from the insurance company. said the followin ( I HAVE BCBS - PPO.
sayin hospital admission is not medically necessary and medical necessity for the admisson is not establised.. WTF. I am sorry for cursing... I am just hurt and cant believe this crap. I have worked so hard for this.. its like... what am i suppose to be fat all my life.! I am calling the hospital tommorrow AM! I want to crawl into a ball and cry!
Sorry need to vent.. I am shaking right now, and all i can do is cry...

Does your surgeon require you take that particular brand? If you compare the ingredients, you can find a store brand that is comparable for much less. I am currently taking 5,000 IU of D3 and it is much cheaper to buy it at CVS or Walmart. No need to spend so much if you don't have to. Just don't get the softgels and that the label says cholecalciferol (D3).

Hello all, I am not new to New York but I had my Gastric Bypass in Miami with Dr. Jorge Sosa. I recently moved back to New York and am now finally getting my insurance after 3 months of working and 5 months of being w/o a doctor. I need to find a doctor here on Long Island preferably in Nassau County so I don't have to travel far. I will be getting Oxford. I want to find a doctor who is familiar with the surgery and the needs of a post op patient. I haven't gone to the doctor in over 5 months and need to get blood work done to see if I need to up any vitamins . .etc. I get my insurance as of 1/1/2011 so if anyone knows of a good Dr. please let me know even if he is in Suffolk, I'll look in to them, thanks in advance

....that sells Bariatric Advantage Vitamins?? I need the vitamins D and I guess if I have to miss a dose today and wait to pick it up from my surgeon tomorrow thats fine but If I don't have to wait, I'd rather not skip a dose... Thanks a lot for any information you may have!

Hello Jessica: My name is Mary and I had RNY surgery thru Syracuse (The surgical bariatric center there almost 2 1/2 years ago. I had lost just over 200# but have gained 7# and am working on getting that off (My own fault not the surgery's) Anyhow, I now have Dr. Simon as my doctor. I found him to be pleasant, even had a bit of a sense of humor, and very capable. He did not do my surgery (I had it done open) but I followed up with him. I am sorry I can't help you with the insurance but wanted to wish you the best of luck in your journey. I am not sure if you will see Marcy (She is the main NP there and is wonderful) but if you do, she can answer alot of your questions as can the NUT (I had Kerry) but I believe she is only part -time now due to having a baby. THe staff are all very friendly there, and it can be a very busy place at times, but make sure you ask any questions and have them asnswered to your satisfaction. You can also email Marcy, the dr. or the Nut. Just ask for their cards. They do respond as I have emailed with a few questions myself. Hope this helps- I did not at all regret my decision to have surgery and again wish you the best of luck in whatever decision you make. Visit this site and also the main forum has alot of information on it, too. Mary
