Portsmouth area?

Hi i'm currently considering getting bariatric by-pass surgery. I was wondering if anyone could from portsmouth or surrounding areas could give me some feedback on what it was like dealing with the doctors around here. thanks!

We actually live in Waverly, Ohio but I had my surgery at Ohio State University. We do have a support group in Chillicothe if you every want to venture up this way and get to know us. I don't believe there are any doctors in Portsmouth doing the surgery. I do know Kings Daughters in Ashland has a program. But in my opinion, I would recommend Ohio State University....much more developed program and experienced doctors. I will not mention names, but a former Portsmouth surgeon is now practicing in Huntington, while I'm sure he has gotten more experience in the past few years, he reallly messed up a relative of mine, and instead of admitted the situation was out of his control, he continued to do more and more surgery and could not fix the problem. Then he moved out of state and left her high and dry...she finally got the right help at Ohio State. To me he was just in it for money, he tried to get me to be one of his first patients....not even! (BTW, I'm originally from Portsmouth, move to FL last July).

I know of at least one dr doing it. She's a great doctor and did a procedure on me. I've heard good things about her doing WLS. As for the dr you are mentioning I know exactly which one you mean. And from what I understand your friend isn't the only one he has messed up. He messed up so many patients he moved to cali before he came back to Huntington. Btw, I'm jealous you live in FL now.
