Cindy, Erin told me to take a multivitamin with iron and that would be all that I needed ( concerning iron ) unless the lab work showed otherwise. I would ask Erin's advice before taking any extra. How are you feeling? I hope you are all better now. Mary

Hey girlie, how are you? I just take a silver centrum but it doesn't say a word about iron. I was shocked. I bought a bottle of Nature Made iron and I am taking just one until some tells me different. I am so confused.

I told ya that centrium silver did't have no iron, after those are gone, good for a good multi-vit that has iron or do the prenatal ones, those can be bough OTC at most drug stores. Most multi-vits have 18 as the iron in it and that is supposed to be enough along with our food. I think.. Call Erin! hugs,

Cindy, If your centrum silver doesn't include iron, then I would take your iron tablet once a day. But to be on the safe side, give Erin a call. She knows what is best for you. She could pull up you lab work and tell you what you need....and best of all, she would not mind doing it one bit! Isn't it a beautiful day today? I am doing just fine, just finished my workout. Getting ready to go outside and do some yardwork. It is too nice to set inside all day! Call Erin, she will unconfuse you...LOL

Cindy I went to Dr. Shin's class Saturday. He says that you need to take two prenatal vitamins a day. That will give you enough iron, B-12, Thiamin to meet your needs. Any excess will just go though the body. He said with the problems with malabsorbtion, PBing, and not being able to get in all the right food components that these are a must every day. If you continue to feel fatigued, no energy, he suggested getting your iron and thiamin levels checked to see if you need further treatment. His talk was very good I thought. Also, I asked about Lapbanders and he said taking the two supplements while not mandatory as with gastric bypass, he suggested we take them anyway to make sure our levels are met. Again, the body eliminates what it can't use. He said you couldn't overdose on these unless you were taking mega masses of these vitamins. Sandy

Hi Cindy, It was so nice to finally meet you. I have to be very careful with iron and not take anymore than 15 - 18mg. of it because it makes me very ill. I would start with 1 and call Erin if you don't see a difference in how you feel. You look so beautiful just as you are from the inside. Please don't get down on yourself about how slow your weight is coming off because it is and it will and you will be just fine. Just hang on and enjoy your WLS journey. You truly are an asset to this board and I look forward to reading your postings. I hope that you made your dr's. appt. for on Mon. and that your on a prescription and feeling better than you were on Sat. Please let us know. Take care of yourself
