I have never been able to put poweder in cold foods. Soup and oatmeal only. And that's all I had for three weeks (well, it seemed like it anyway) that I haven't had it since! LOL

Yes I was told No shakes for protein, But I'm a realist, and i'm busy, if i can grab a shake in the morning and drink it at work and get 27g of protein in to start my day, then damn it that's what I'm going to do.  I make my own with banana. it's low carb and low sugar and high protein. Monday to Friday, protein shake in the mornings, i swear by it. And i end up getting 80 to 100 grams a day.

But that's my choice, everyone has to make their own choices, don't go by me.

I won't go by you, buyt the feedback from everyone is awesome. I enjoy reading how people deal with their WLS. I did have the premier shakes, with 30 grams and I ran out. Haven't been back to Costco to get more, but I didn't mind them. I'll probably go back to at least one a day, as i'm starting a new (actually old....but haven't been there for almost 6 years) job on the 2nd and it might take a bit to get into a normal routine.

I aim for 80-100 per day and I still always have one scoop of chocolate protein in my coffee first thing in the morning...I really miss the taste if I run out...it is like a mochacinno YUM!!

And I do keep protein bars on in my purse in case I have a crazy day and am on the run the whole day.

Typically, I eat alot of meat...beef and chicken mostly and seafood (tuna, shrimp, tilapia) is always good for high protein and low fat...

That's another good idea, a scoop in your coffee. How do you make sure that it doesn't get lumpy? What kind do you use?

I'm not ready for protein bars for sure. Another month probably.

I am so happy that I love meat and dairy products. I can't imagine getting in the protein without it. vegans must have such a hard time!

it all takes time so don't sweat it if one day you get the required amount in and the next day you don't....the way I used to gauge it is I would start with a protein drink 1st thing in teh morning and if I didn't get enough protein by supper..I would finish with a protein drink in the evening

my protein shake...is 35 grams of protein in each serving so x 2 that 70 grams right there.

don't forget that sardines pack a lot of protein....

once you are further out, your consumption of chicken, fish and higher portein foods will increase....and you will be diligent when sitting down to OR ordering a meal that you will ALWAYS concentrate on PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN.

I now eat (1) protein snack size bar around 11 a.m

Oh Yeah , Supreme and Myoplex (Lite) are my favorites) bars and  that ties me over until lunch when I have my grilled chicken breast.

all of my  bar choices have 190 calories and 15 grams of protein and 8 or less grams of sugar...(that's the most sugar I can tolerate)

if I get snacky (and yes I still do at times) in teh afternoon, I usually have some beef jerky around to tie me over

Sardines!!! I don't even think i've ever tried sardines!! LOL. I can handle tilapia, but that's about it for fish.

I'm waiting a bit before protein bars and jerky. I tried a very wet chicken pepperoni stick yesterday and ate it too fast and threw up. Good times!
