Just had my first real meal!!

Even though I started having baby meat a few days ago, today I officially graduated to pureed foods.  My marvellous amateur chef son made me my own little burger patty, fresh carrots and green beans from the market this morning, then he pureed each one, and set me up a little buffet at my spot at the table.  I dished out about a half cup total, added a little of his homemade no sugar ketchup to the meat, then proceeded to enjoy the same delicious dinner everyone was eating.  How great to feel "normal" again!  Thanks Eric for taking care of me, and for making enough for lunch tomorrow!!

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

Yeah for you!  Yes, getting to eat regular food again is wonderful ... but wait until you get to texture!   MMMMmmmmm.

Sounds like you've got a great little gentleman on your hands there.  Cudos to you, mom.

Sounds wonderful!  Can't wait to eat a "real" meal.  Liquid gets boring very quickly.

That sounds wonderful Megan.  Any chance on getting the recipe for no sugar ketchup.

That sounds wonderful as well.

Allyson - they sell NSA ketchup at the low carb grocer (for about $5 or something).  I buy it in the USA at Walmart for about $2.

Tastes just like the real thing.

I'm not sure how he did it - I know he used field tomatoes.  I'll ask him and get back to you.

Wow that does sound interesting and scrumptious!  I can't wait until I get to have real food.  I on the other hand have been a bit bad...lol  I started my full fluids diet a little early.  I just found it wasn't enough.  But I must say the cream soup is amazing! You have an amazing son! :)
