Gosh, I can SO relate to this.
Of all the benefits, being able to live my own life rather than rely on someone else to help me out, or working my schedule around someone elses's timetable has boosted my morale probably as much as the change in my physical size.

Thanks very much Vi-Vi. I was very nervous when I started this journey but by the time I reached the surgery date, thanks to inspirational posts from others a ton of research, a load of advice received on the board, all of those fears disappeared. I hope that you too will be able to feel this way as well. Good luck on your journey Vi-Vi.
I am right there with you. :)
Before my surgery, i couldn't have walked half a block. I depended on hubby for everything. I didn't have a driver's license, needed him to taxi me around to everything.
Now my walk radius is huge, my bike radius is huger, and I have a G2 and can drive on my own. I AM INVINCIBLE!!! *grin* There's just no stopping me.
