discount card

I have been around the RNY community for going on 4 years..and have NEVER heard of a Discount card.   The card I rec'd from my hospital in the (USA) has on it "This individual has had a procedure that restricts the amount of food they can consume in one sitting therefore allowing them to order from a Seniors or Child's menu would be appreciated."

I have never used the card..I pretty much know what I am going to order when I go somewhere to dine out and I usually end up taking 1/2 of it home if it's a full meal.

Also after attending quite a few support group meetings and hearing the comments from some individuals that have shown this card...well lets just say...I don't want to be grilled on what type of surgery, what, how much, "are you okay"..you would be surprised at what some people feel they are entitled to ask.

(I had to come back and fix major typos, sometimes when I type on this site it doesn't show up on the screen (sort of like a delayed feature)..so there were some really erroneous errors...my apologies) I am really not that bad of a speller
