That is so freakin awesome!!! If you check out my goals, one of them is to participate in, not necessarily run the whole thing, but be part of anf finish the Steamtown Marathon here in Scranton in fall of 08.

Best of luck to you taking that extra time off.  :)

Andy, How great is that!!  I signed up for my first run too. OH NO!!!  Mine isn't until late August and I'm already scared to death.  I was never able to run the 600 in school and now I'm planning on running over 3 miles.  I have a lot of work to do before I'm ready, but just the idea of it is so wonderful.  You are an inspiration and I'm so honored to know you.  If you set you mind to under 25 minutes I know you'll make it, have the best time trying! That's awesome. I need to try something like that sometime. I should get running outside a little bit. I suppose there's more to life than the elliptical.

Hi Andy, I've read your posts and think you are simply amazing, as are many of the people on here, who give me strength, hope and inspiration, that one day too, I might be able to experience all those great Wow moments!

Wishing you success at your dreams!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Andy, way to go!   I can just hear the commentraries now:   Sports Announcer # 1:  "Andy K, a new comer to 5K racing and sources tell us he used to be a BIG man. Sports Announcer # 2:  "What do you mean used to be?  I think any guy who can drop 185 pounds and then get in shape to run any type of race in 15 months is indeed a big man, a big man of will power and go get it that is!"   Andy "Kudos"  running man kewl
