Excess Skin and Balance
OK, here's one I've never seen on the boards but something I'm experiencing and wonder if anyone else has.
I have the bulk of my excess/loose skin on my upper thighs - inside and out - its BAD. So bad that I know its causing me pain in my left leg on the outer upper thigh area, and I honestly believe its throwing me off balance at times when I'm walking.
I do have bi-lateral knee replacements that I've had since 2000 and 2001, but I don't think its that because it seems when I do go off-balance is from the upper part of my legs. I did mention this to Dr Boe on my 1 year follow-up and he documented it but I think I need to see my primary now and let him know as well.
As anyone else experienced this or am I just weird? I think exercising at Curves now is helping, but even there I get off-balance when I'm on the spring board walking in place between machines, and one of the women I work with actually talked to me about it today and said she noticed I sort of sway or side-step a lot lately.
OK, so I am weird, but aside from that - help??
Thanks -

hmmm...well, I am not graceful to begin with, so i can't say that any extra skin causes me to be the clutz that I am, but I can see where extra skin could do that. I have noticed though, that a few times I have kind of knocked myself off balance...almost like I got hip checked from some invisible source. I DO have the pain you talk about from the extra skin. I would suggest docmenting it as much as you can and maybe look into having a thigh lift.
