And I'm the RUDE one????
Pam
I couldn't have come up with a more professional response if I tried. That kind of aggressive abusive response is just so totally obnoxious! I would have wanted to smack him too! You bust your tail to be kind , efficiant sp? and professional and all it takes is one jerk to ruin your whole shift. I'm so glad that the patient defended you. I hope she told him that he was the one being rude. I'm also sorry that you have such an unsupportive head nurse. M ine IS JUST NEVER THERE AND DOESN'T HAVE our( the staff's) back either. Sorry the caps lock got hit. I hope that your next shift goes better. You definitely took the higher road. You are the better person.

Pam I for one am sorry you had that rough time but you were professional about it and kudos to you. I once had a cardiologist who had that attitude and I said to him you know Dr so and so the last time I looked the position of God was filled and SHE is not vacating it anytime soon SHE likes her job. Needless to say that he threw me out of the practice. I guess he couldn't handle the wait for the God position huh? But you maintained your cool and dignity and the patient seemed to back you up and that was the important thing. Keep up the good work Pam don't let morons like him get you down. You're better than that. I for one always appreciated the care I received from my nurses remembering to always thank them for their care. And they remember that they were appreciated.
