OT - Do you believe in Love at first sight?

I don't think I do, but I just started dating a guy who fell hard and fast for me... not love exactly, but he's really into me  and doesn't mind saying so ( which is a nice departure from what i'm used to)

It made me wonder, is love at first sight possible?

 Im still not sure how i feel about this !!! My now hubby and I met 6 years ago. We saw each other from across the room and there was def. and attraction we had both never felt. Although it did take 5 years for us to get married we did pursue a long distance relationship for over 4 years.

So i can say i believe in love at first sight but i believe sometimes people are more intune to there heart and emotions than others.

I don't know Angela but let me ask you, how do you feel about him?

  I'm just the kind of person who thinks that things like this  are not for real so I don't want to let myself get too far involved just in case the other shoe desides to fall.

Believe me, everyone tells me that this is the wrong attitude and i'm creating a self fulfilling prophesy ( i do this all the time, not just with this guy LOL)

Oh it's for real Angela but only time will tell whether it's the real you want. Nothing wrong with being careful just don't create barriers that aren't there. 
My wish for you is to find the real that you want and need for as long as you want and need it.

Sure. But then again I believe there are lots of different kinds of love.

I fell in love with Johnny at first sight. And he says the same. I just had the feeling he was it and we were head over heels for each other instantly.

And I still love and adore him today. But I realize how I feel for him now is different. It's a different kind of love. It's deeper and stronger and more of a partner/friendship love.

Love changes and grows as time goes on. So I believe Love at first is possible. It's not the kind of love that makes a lasting relationship. It has to grow into something more substantial. I even realize that next week, next year, and years from now, I will love him differently.........but will still always LOVE the man.

Does that make any sense? LOL

I hope that's what this is. I can see him and I being best friends. I just love talking to him and sharing with him.

Hi Ang! It's been too long!

Once you said that you see yourself being best friends then YES. Chris and I are best friends and were very good friends before we even started dating.

Jo worded it so beautifully. I love Chris much differently then I did 7 years ago when we met. IT is a truer deeper love and a greater appreciation for him as a person.

I hope that this guy makes you VERY happy - if not he has the WLS community to deal with! lol
