Chris, I'm so so sorry about April. It's absolutely heartbreaking when we lose a furry member of our family. I'm glad you were with April as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge---I'm sure it was a comfort to her. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Julia

Julia,
Our pets really do become a member of the family don't they? Thanks you for the emotional support, I was really in shock on Friday, but I'm doing ok today, as is my dog Peanut. It's amazing how quiet it is around here now. Thanks again.

Liz,
Thank you for the hugs, I also got alot of hugs and support at work that night. Almost everyone I work with has pets of some kind. I am so grateful to everyone who are just so supportive on this PA board!  All of the kindness expressed has really been a help.

I am so sorry to hear about April.  I am glad you were there with her though.  I had to put my Roxie down a few months ago.  I held onto her as she fell sleep, telling her what a great dog she was.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of cry over her.  Take care of yourself during this difficult time.

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

I've had to make the tough decision to put pets down in the past, and it is gut wretching every time, but I have always felt it was the most compassionate choice to make. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, everyone *****sponded to my message really helped me get through this first weekend, and I am very grateful.
