Make sure you do your research and ask lots and lots of questions.
Like it has been said, you have found the best board around!! This group of people has helped each other through so much WLS related and not.
I am 5 months post op and have never felt better in my life! Enjoy the ride!! It's gonna be a crazy one but well worth it!

Welcome!! I always run a tad behind posts on the weekends since I'm not on line quite as much. Sounds like you are a very busy 20-something! this is a wonderful support forum and its always good to welcome newcomers and before you know it you'll feel right at home here.
Take care and keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks everyone so much for the support and warm welcome! I've been researching and debating about wls for many years now and I decided after so many attempts of doing it myself that this is a tool and I deserve to take care of myself and this is what it's going to take to become healthy.
Thursday is my first consulation with my surgeon and then next week is my appointment with the nutritionist. As soon as I leave my surgeon's office on Thursday, I'm calling my PCP to set up my first official weigh in and go over any of the requirements he wants to monitor. My pcp has been a great help and listener to me over these years and he thinks that I'm the perfect candidate and luckily I am young and very healthy for my size, so he said that the outlook for surgery and the long-term is good.
I can't wait to get to know all of you, you motivate me so much and I think you're all just amazing.
