UPDATE ON DAD
Lisa, End of life issues are so hard for many people to talk about. I hope that your Dad is comfortable, feels supported and loved. I wish him peace and dignity. I also wish this for you and your family. I'm glad your mom? is getting a needed break to rest and care for herself too. I hope you have many good visits with your dad. Hospice is a wonderful choice.

So, they moved my dad into the hospice facility yesterday and when they evaluated him decided that this was not going to be respite. His condition is deteriorating and they are going to keep him there until he passes. They are thinking that it is only a matter of days. So, of course, instead of going to bingo, I used my bingo babysitter and I went to see him last night. He was resting comfortably. He did not wake up when I tried to say hello to him. According to my stepmom, they gave him a morphine/ativan ****tail right before she left, which was right before I got there. That is keeping him at peace. Thank G-d.
The Rabbi came to visit while I was there and we talked for awhile about him and other things, as well. He is so great at saying the right things and at making you feel at ease when you need to. We discussed some of my father's past travels, likes, family history. The Rabbi has known my father for 34 years (since he came to our synagogue) because my father has belonged there his entire life. I know he will deliver a beautiful eulogy. He always does, but it is always so much better when he knew the person.
My hope now is that he continues to rest comfortably until the time comes for him to pass.
Thank you all again for all your love and support.
