Happy Festivus....Wednesday Roll Call

Good Morning all!

I am wide awake, at 4 am. Not feeling well and not sleeping. So I figured I would get roll call started today.

This morning I will finish up some wash and make breakfast for the little ones. Then off to work from 11-3. After work Johnny and I are going shopping. Yup, we still aren't done. With school, the older boys and wrestling practice, and work, we are just behind! Only a few things to get, but none the less, we are not ready.

So amidst fighting traffic and rude people, we will grab dinner and try to get home at a decent hour so I can wrap the gifts! LOL

Morning Jo.. hope you feel better.   I was awake at 4 also, but went back to sleep for the whole 45 minutes I could until I had to get up for work... I hate that feeling.

Anyway, today I'm working 10 hours yet again. 

After work, I'm going to try to get over to the gym.  Then, tonight I have my consult with the addictions specialist.   Still looking for suggestions on what I should ask her.. anybody have thoughts on that?

Those are my only plans for the day.  For those of you still doing your last minute shopping, I wish you luck in finding what you want and patience for dealing with the ignorance on the roads and in the stores.

Maybe bring up things like..........(FYI-   these are things I do or have done, I am not assuming you are the same!

Eating differently in front of people than when your alone

Eating to escape feelings

Feeling guilty or ashamed about what I've eaten

Secretly eating

Hiding food

I am not sure what you would ask exactly. I know overeaters anonymous has a website and they provide some podcasts. As soon as I get my new iPod, I want to download a few and see if they are helpful in "self talking" or encouragement.

I'm also looking for interview type questions to know if she is the right person for me to be dealing with.  Like credentials and stuff.  I am going to be sure she has dealt with WLS patients before, but I'm not sure what else.

I have an Ipod.. maybe I'll check out the OA stuff, too.

I think that you'll just get a feeling if she is the right person for you or not. Just talk to her and if you are comfortable she is right. It might take a few sessions to figure it out too.

Lisa - I am sooo proud of you!  And....does this mean that in a few weeks, I will be doing the same thing?  Should I start looking for an addictions specialist now?!?!  JK!  I love you and am looking forward to any insight you will bring back from the meetings if you are wililng to share!

Steffi, I hope you don't have to start looking for one.. it really sux that I feel like this.  But, I know that the addiction is there and I am determined to get help for it.  Of course, I will share any valuable information I receive with all of you!

woohooo congrats! TIme flies when you are having fun! I can't believe I'll be 3 years out in just over a month!
