I went onto sparks people today to start tracking food, and it will take me awhile to get use to it.. is there anyone that uses it cause I cant get my servings right.. like the nutritional info is for 1cup but I am only eating 1/4cup I cant get it to register that so I have an accurate account of what I am putting in my mouth...

my other question is this early out how many calories are we to be getting and how many carbs?
and i was also noticing my yoplait  lite yogurts have a high sugar count.. what should be try to stay under?

I was reading my lil book and the only thing it tells me is I need 160grams of protein a day .. there is no way I am gonna be able to get anywhere near that.. any suggestions.. ...

also if there is an even easier site to track food let me knwo.. the less complicated the better *L

I am trying to be a good girl and do it all right..

also I did get on that treadmill last night and today I went out and shoveled snow for 25mins...

On sparkpeople, if it defaults to one cup, and you want to enter 1/4 cup, just change the 1 to .25.  That's what I do.

160 grams of protein? Wow, I don't know that I've ever gotten that much in a day.  I had a high start weight too (439) and from the beginning aimed for 80-100 grams and it took a while to get up to it. It will come in time. In the beginning I followed the meal plans from BariatricEating.com and actually I still pretty much follow them now.  And yes, there's sugar in the yoplait lites, but it's from the lactose so it's not bad like having sucrose would be.  I try to keep my carbs under 60 grams per day, with most of them coming from dairy, fruits and vegetables.

Hope this helps!

160 grams I am pretty sure impossible. I have never heard a surgeon say anything more then 65-90 grams a day. As for my text books it states that a women needs atlest 70 grams of protein a day and a man needs 90 grams a day. Good luck! Let me know how the food tracking goes...I have never been good with keeping up with that.

Double check your protein intake. That definately seems WAY off.

As far as the tracking, put in .25 for a 1/4 cup or .5 for a half cup.

I use dailyplate.com and that's how I document my foods. I rarely have the entire serving so I have to type in that I am only eating a portion of it.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I am in LOVE with dailyplate.com! I found it by accident a couple of weeks ago. This is a bit OT, but do you know if there's any way to add an item? For example, if I use store brand of say, diced tomatoes, but I can only find Hunt's? Is there a way to add the store brand to the list?

Now you have me curious . . . I track mine here under My OH, Health Tracker. It seems simple enough.

I have never heard of anyone needing 160 grams of protein, even starting larger than the average WLS patient. I have heard 100 as pretty much a maximum. You will probably have tp supplement a lot to get over 100.
