B-12 Shots
I've been having signs of Congestive Heart Failure again. I've been extremely tired with it. Saw the Dr yesterday and he upped my lasix hoping to get rid of the edima before it gets worse. Also took alot of blood tests too to check my levels. When I mentioned the exhaustion with it I asked him about the B-12 shot. He said it was worth a try. He gave me one. I am not as tired and it also feels like it's elevated my mood more than anything else. I was wondering if anyone else gets the B-12 shot and how long it lasts for them and how often they get it. What effects do you feel from the shot?

Per my surgeon's plan, I receive a B-12 shot every time i see my NUT--every 3 months. My PCP said I could get a shot a bit more often should i feel tired/worn-out. I can feel the effects almost immediately! I am more energized and, yes, i feel that my mood is even better. Maybe I sleep better after having it and it's a domino effect.... good luck with your heart issues.
Hi Diane,
Gene gets a B-12 shot every month. I am not on B-12 yet, I see my surgeon on the 11th and they will take blood then. Once my surgeon tells me I need to start the B-12 my PCP will give me the shot just as he does with Gene. When Gene gets the shot he has more energy and is not as tired. About 3 or so months ago the B-12's werer not giving him his normal jump in energy so our PCP checked his Iron, and he was low. Now he is on Iron twice a day as well. He goes back for his 3 month check-up on the Iron this week.

Hadn't had a shot in over 2 years. My PCP said my levels were fine. They finally started declining a bit and I started feeling a bit weaker, etc. Asked to have one and I did feel a bit "perkier." Now I get to stick myself every month. Haven't done one yet but I'm hoping they do more than give me a mental boost. Hmmm, maybe the barix doctors know something we don't...
