Interesting Wow's at 2 years Out.

Let me start off by saying that I came home and told Dennis of this event because well it is what makes our relationship work best.


I was Kohl's last night doing some shopping I was in the men's underwear section looking for a treat for my sexy boyfriend.  When I felt someone staring at me so I turned around to see this guy looking at me then he knew I saw him so he said " I really like your tattoo it is sharp" Now I have the rosary on my ankle so I used to getting comments on it. So I said "Thanks" went back to looking at the undies.

I feel I am still being stared at so I turn around yup the guy is still staring he smiles and I nod go back to making my choice.Then I look up he is right  across from me  in the aisle he reaches out & hands me his business card then says if I would ever like to give a call for a drink let him know. I said thank you and took his card he then went on his way I stood there speechless. Never have I had anything like this happen before it made me feel good but even better to return home to Dennis.

I told him the story he gave me a high 5!  Then I said well I have to tell you on Monday in work a client told me that I could make a man stop thinking in the dress I had on. I smiled said thank you but have to say twice in one week is beyond baffling to me but it has helped my confidence that has been struggling as of late.

I never see myself as this way at all I see myself as the old Beth that guys do not hit on at all but think please don't let the fat chick sit next to me. Felt good but even better to come home and share with my man who loves me good days and bad!

Those sound like awesome wow moments and at 2 years out, the wows are much more subtle then in the first year or so, some are the kind that only we can realize and get that inner smile about and the acknowledgement from without creates that inner smile much more so, why is it that we can never give ourselves the pat on the back?  Probably a good topic for one of our support groups. . .  anyway, validation is good and I hear you about not feeling the confidence, but truthfully, that is something that wanes and ebbs as we do more confidence building things. . .

Great WOWs hun! 

I know its easier to believe the bad about yourself than the good.  I think I was more comfortable with my body when I was overweight.  Now I question any comment anyone makes about me.  Are they being nice? Is he blind?  Is this a pity compliment?

I think we will always suffer from body dismorphia but we need to learn to stop being so tough on ourselves.
