Topic: RE: A RANT on our little island!
A station by my house was $3.42 last night! We've been paying over $3.30 for many months. I put about $90.00 a week in my car. It's sick. I worry about my kids and what the prices are going to be when they are adults! Salaries don't keep up with inflation, certainly not for my DH and I!!

Had an early meeting and didn't want to eat and chance getting something stuck prior....
on the drive to work: Kashi shake
after meeting: Activia yogurt w/All Bran, maybe 1/4 cup or less mixed in
L: the chicken pieces, some broccoli and the edamame out of a Lean Cuisine spa meal...threw most of it away though, it's loaded with spaghetti.
S: a few pretzels
D: leftover corned beef, macaroni, cheesy casserole
later: lite cool whip w/nat pb mixed in
I called my surgeon today about all my stomach pain lately and the nurse thinks that I'm constipated. Sorry TMI....I have IBS and she thinks it might be causing me issues. I know I don't go like a normal person would because I can't fit all the fiber in I need. So she wants me to make an appointment with my PCP....I think I'll try taking some MOM tonight and see if it helps.....I may need a little "clean out" sorry!

That is a tough one Phyllis. I can only tell you what I did. I had my band repositioned after the slip and have had no further problems. That said, there was no hernia issue for me. And, I had already lost all my weight so I knew the band would work for me.
Talk to your doctor. I know you will come to the right decision for you.
Good luck.

Hey Dev,
Sorry to hear you have a slip. But you can get through a slip. I know, I have done it. I did have to have another surgery, but my band was easily repositioned. It has been over three years since then and no furhter problems.
Take care and keep us posted.

B: skinny cinnamon dolce and 2 slices bacon and a small amount of eggs
S: string cheese
L: 1/2 crab cake (the other half from last night) and 1 bite cauliflower
S: skinny cinnamon dolce latte (you thought I only had one today, didn't you?)
D: left over mizithra cheese from Old Spaghetti Factory (and there is still more left - how did I used to eat all this in one sitting?)

$3.39? It's $3.47 here! But to be fair, I got the $.10 off at Safeway since I spent so much on groceries...
Topic: RE: What would you do?
Ahhhh...Phyllis, I wish I had some words of wisdom for you too.........part of me wants to say....you can do it with the band, but the realsitic part of me knows that you've had less success with it than you would like. Couple that with the fact that you have these new problems (hernia, etc) and your growing lack of confident feelings, I have a feeling you are leaning more toward the sleeve all the time. I know so little about the sleeve, that I'd be the last one to advise you, but definitely ask Bridget as she's living it and hopefully having great success. I love my band, but if I were doing it right now, I too think I would look into the sleeve.....I knew nothing about it then and it really does sound like a viable solution. I most assuredly would not want to see you get that you-know-what cause it seems to cause snippiness among other things....and if you got like that, we'd have to come to your house and slap the crap out of you!!!
What ever happens, I'm sure you and your doctor will make the best decision for you and no matter what, you know we'll all be here cheering you on every step of the way.
Hang in there, things will settle into place and the right decision will become apparent.
Love and hugs,
Anita

Thanks for your support Marcia. I just don't do well with uncertainty. It makes me want to eat. I just want to think positively and just do what I need to do and I think all will fall into place.
I hope that you will continue to succeed with the band. It does take a lot of patience. I would be willing to be patient if I had confidence that it was going to work without further complications, but at this point I don't.

It really is good news if they found it early. It is also good for you to finally have an ansewer. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Lately I have PB'd too often!
Breakfast: HOT TEA and tuna salad - no problems
Lunch: reheated, left over grilled shrimp and angel hair pasta - I PB'd it all!
Snack: no sugar apple sauce
Dinner: crab cake, steamed green peas - no problem
I guess that I just can't reheat some things...
