Kelley I have to tell you something...Last week I went to an office dinner and when I got there (in a smashing new much smaller outfit) I think most people's jaw**** the floor.
At work I'm still wearing my old stuff...belted and with safety pins. They didn't expect what they saw.

I got a truckload of attention!! Weird actually...I've always been social but on the quiet side. It was nice...not in a narcissistic...oh look at me way... but just nice to be "normal"...
Alot of the "slim" "pretty" girls always get that attention but new to me...but I enjoyed it. I didn't fight it. When people said I looked "fantastic" I'd simply smile and say "thank-you"

I didn't respond with something negative as I use to...so we are changing physically, mentally, emotionaly...and it's important to take it all in...to enjoy the journey!

OK...enough said...I'm off to the gym!

Thanks Kelley...and you 're right it does fuel me more too...but those people I just ignore. I really try and eliminate any type of negativity from my life...sometimes it's hard but it's those times I say to my self that I've come such a freakin' long way...I deserve to be happy...we all deserve to be happy!

Thanks...and yup I'll be at the meeting...it's great to be with people who "understand" you and what you are going through...

One thing I forgot to say before and that is I'm willing to share with people who are genuinely interested in knowing how I'm losing the weight and if it could help someone else but for idle gossip...forget about it!!

What's also fantastic for me now is that I love going to the gym!!! Crazy...I go 3-4 times a week and during that time I work 2 of those times with a personal (very hot may I add) trainer. I'm lucky that at work my insurance covers naturopathy and kinesiology so 80% of the fees are covered. Since my trainer is recognised in both domains. So anyone with insurance should take advantage of it.

Bye for now,
Ada

 Hey Lindsay:

I agree with your frustrations.      I believe Dr. Denis initially told me 18 months.  I was disappointed with that time, but accepted it because this is definately something that is needed & I am anxious for.

I should be having the surgery this month..... but it looks like the 18 months will be pushed to maybe 24.   I am so hoping that when I reach 24, it isn't moved again.
I haven't heard anything from the office, so this is quite frustrating and of course disheartening.

AM so anxious but am keeping my chin up.

May the summer zoom by for you and October will be here before you know it.

take care Lindsay.

Okay, it's official.  I will tell my family this weekend. (or will start with my boyfriend lol)     I will ask them not to spread the word and to keep it within the close family.      If I am ready to tell them in the future, that's my choice.  :-)

I think my family will be surprised at how much I have researched and educated myself on the procedure & how it will change my relationship with food for the rest of my life.     They will definately be supportive and am sure will help me through everything.      There is a lot of planning involved for after the procedure which I'll definatley need their assistance with.

My workplace,   am not sure yet if I will tell them anything besides I am no a diet.  LOL   Let them talk all they want.     LOL  Maybe a select few whom I know will be supportive.

Am ready for this commitment.     I have a feeling that I'll get a call near September.  Not sure why,  I just do.  :-)

I almost forgot to ask,  how does the optifast taste???

Xoxoxo

WOO HOO 85 lbs,   that is FANTASTIC   Congrats to you Ada.

I cannot believe that some people are actually be jealous of your success  -     I am positive that I will encounter some of these people,  and I think it will just fuel me even more to continue and fuel their jealousy even more.  :-)

Am also waiting for my call,    patiently.   :-)     my time will come.      Sooner rather than later I hope. :-)

I love your comment ---     I so agree.
It's heartbreaking but the truth is that most "normal"sized people have no idea what we go through.

Hey Kellie!

I TOTALLY hear you and understand you!

I've told my family and a select group, but already it's spread like a wild fire to people I had choosen not to educate...

I could not agree more with you about not taking the easy way out.. This will be a full time commitment for the REST of OUR LIVES! Nothing easy about that!

I don't think you are being silly, but those close to you that you love and they love you back, I think you should tell them.

I could not agree with you more about when you are ready the call will come... I finally started taking my surgery seriously and actually doing my homework and bam, I got the call!!!! :)

hang in there!

Hugs
