I am having mine done at Rockland, would you mind maybe emailing me the detailed diet plan? I'd really appreciate it.. I have a little book from Rockland it says "FOOD GUIDE, BARIATRIC SURGERY" with a green apple on the cover.. is it the same?
I really appreciate the support!
Welcome to the board, thanks for posting. Sounds like you are doing great...77 lbs in 3 months is awesome!
We are at a similar starting weight, so I'm really interested in hearing about your progress. I have some questions...i hope you don't mind. How long did you have to do Optifast, and how was it for you? How did you feel about pain management following your surgery? What kind of follow up appointments do you do after surgery? I'm really curious about this since I live in Gatineau, but my surgery is in Montreal...not sure how much back and forth there is. I'm pre-op, but will be having VSG with Dr. Atlas in the next 6 months or so...
I'm really excited about the surgery, but lately feeling a bit more anxious as the time gets closer.

I am in tune with the best of life. I know the joy of throwing off, day by day, the chains that have shackled me.
Prep Time: 1 minute
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Serving Size: Serves 2
Smoked paprika is my new favorite seasoning. Toss with shrimp before a quick sear hit with cooling Greek yogurt and a bit of lemon or lime and you have a sauced dish that goes great with avocado slices that is to the table in five minutes!
8 ounces large shrimp, peeled and cleaned
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Kosher salt and black pepper
1 clove garlic, sliced
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon lime juice - just a squeeze
Avocado slices
Toss the raw shrimp with the smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Saute the garlic in the oil in a small non stick skillet until lightly browned, add shrimp and toss for 2 to 3 minutes until curled and just cooked through. Remove from heat - add yogurt and lime juice - toss to coat with creamy sauce that forms.
Arrange on avocado slices.
It was nice meeting you on Wednesday and I have to say, I left the meeting feeling very inspired and excited for my surgery, which is scheduled for June 1st.
Can you give me an idea of your menu for the first few days?
Thanks! ;)
