I'm headed there tomorrow for the weekend with my kiddos and hubby. I'm not worried since the protests have all but ended and the events today did NOT go over well with the public.

I can let you know how it goes once we are there if you would like. :)

hi guys, this isn't really WLS related. i'm just worried because i have a planned flight to montreal next week (i live in FL, in the US) and i'm worried about safety because of all the protests going on. is it isolated? can i avoid it by staying out of certain locations? should i cancel my trip. i'm 9 weeks pregnant so i'm worried about not only my safetly but the safety of my baby.  i don't want any trauma or to get roughed up for being in the wrong place, or inhaling smoke from smoke bombs or things like that.

should i cancel my trip or will i be ok? HELP!!
thanks in advance!!

Got a call to schedule pre-op tests from Sacre Coeur hospital and going to go with Dr. Garneau for the VSG once I give birth and am no longer breast feeding.  From my appointment in March with Dr. D-something at RVH (Court was not able to see me as he was in the ER with a patient), I would have to be operated for by Dr. Christou because no other surgeon has the specialty to remove the lap band and then do a secondary surgery.  And I am not paying for a surgery that is covered for by RAMQ.

Will keep you posted :)

I had the VSG. I'm doing okay. Can't stand the beneprotein I'm supposed to put in my cream soups. Any news for you?

Glad to hear you had the surgery.   Did you have the VSG afterall?  How are you feeling?

This support group hosted by Jennifer & Bill is awesome.  They say that those that attend a support group have higher success rate than those who don't attend.

I used to be a regular and hope to so again once the babe is born.

Welcome to our forum Mikki!

I saw Dr. Garneau at Rockland MD last May 2011 and I was told the wait list at that time is anywhere from 18 -24 months.  I'm actually on 2 wait lists but that's a whole other story lol.

I received a call from Dr. Garneau's office about 3 weeks ago wanting to schedule me for pre-op tests but my situation changed since last year.  I'm pregnant and due any minute now and therefore have to wait until I am done with breast feeding before I pursue WLS.  The nurse told me that had I made my appointment for my pre-op tests then and there, that I would have been operated within 4 months.  Hope this helps.  :)
