HI!

I was put on the list in October 2010 and I was called for the group meeting in April 2011.  I was lucky because usually it is a bit longer than that.  A friend was called at the same time as me but she was on the list since September 2009.

How it works in Laval:  The first time you are called is for the group meeting where one of the surgeons explains the surgery, the nurse responsible for the program as well as the psychologist and nutritionnist talked to us too and explained everything.  At that meeting you fill out a form that confirms that you still want the surgery.

Then you wait for the call for your appointement with the nurse and the surgeon.  Call that I got last Thursday.  I'm so happy.

Then you have to meet at least once with the nutritionist and once with the psychologist.  After that you meet with the nurse again to complete your file which is sent to set the date for the surgery.

Their reputation is very good and they do everything before the surgery so it is a success.  That's why we have to meet with all those specialists.

Hope I explained it well.

HI there

I am meeting with RocklandMD on the 20th but with the news of no more surgeries at the clinic I am also looking at Laval.

What is your waiting list like with Laval?

Great to see that everyone is doing well! I've also been losing steadily over the weeks, I am lucky that I've only had one stall so far (knock on wood). I find that I lose quicker when I manage to get more calories in, so I'm like Joel, having an occasional treat here and there to keep things moving!

Hope you all have a great week!

Hey, hey, good to hear from you!

Congrats on your maintenance and upcoming surgiversary!
Weather is not much better in western Qc...Tons of clouds...Ideal timing for a few chores and lots of quality time with loved ones!

On the weight front, this new body of mine works great. I too have to commit occasionnal carb sins to keep my weight over 172lbs. Burning calories is much more easier than it used to be so the occasionnal iced cap, glass of wine or beer get burned quite rapidly...Totally crazy indeed!

One other great thing is that my weight doesn't draw as much attention as it used to, and conversations don't revolve exclusively around my weight loss anymore...Being out of the spotlight is great...

Have a good one y'all!

Hi there everyone! I hope this labor day is filled with pleasure and relaxation with a bit of sunshine to boot!  Here it's gray and misty but I plan to go for a walk on the beach with my dogs later on.

As for me well I am back at work tommorrow. I had three weeks of vacation and spent two weeks visiting family in Québec city and last week on outdoors chores!

I am nearing my two year wls anniversary and will take the time to write a few lines on that topic.

As for my weigh in well I am still maintaining....I lost a few pounds with the change of job but am still maintaining at 145-147lbs.  I am eating more 'sin' foods to try and put on a few pounds.....crazy eh?! I am being careful with the portions though. I soon as I am full I stop eating.  I also eat more in the evening and I need a snack in the middle of the night now.  I tend to eat a healthy carb as it is easy to digest late at night.
My ideal weight should really be at 150-155lbs.  So for all of you who are stuck or on a plateau....trust the process.  The weight will go down.

I see that many of you are doing extremely well on your weight loss journey. Keep up the great work and many Wow's are ahead of you. This journey is truly an adaptation to a new life style but also one filled with personal emotional triumps.

Have a good week everyone!

Thanks for posting this information.  This is so disappointing, but makes sense now why Martine told me the wait time is now 2.5 years.  I was expecting to get a call sometime this month, but looks like I'll be waiting until at least March now.

I wish Martine could just post little updates here with us - wouldn't that be great?

I am new to this forum.  From what I read, you sound like a great group and I'm certain I could use support from people going through the same think as me.

I see a lot of people on the waiting list from Sacre-Coeur and I am on that list too (Dr. Atlas) but I am also on the list from Cite de la Sante in Laval and I think from the meetings I had so far, I will go with Cite de la sante.  Anyone else at Cite de la sante?

Have a nice look weekend everybody.

Hi Kessey,

Thanks for your good wishes. Actually when I went to see Martine for my bloodwork, Dr. Garneau had NOT requested the pneumology tests. She made that decision on her own. I guess she decided that it would be best for the test.

But what I am feeling is that they are just trying to "fill up" the time until I go for my surgery. My blood work was on May 18th, September 18th will be 4 months since my pre-op blood tests.

Anyway...keeping my fingers crossed!
