Topic: RE: Getting a Revision (Band to Sleeve)
 Hi Candace,

Welcome to the club.  I am also on the list for a revision.  I've had the lap bad since March 2009 with little success and I saw Dr. Garneau in May.  He's the one that suggested the sleeve vs any other surgery.   He told me that he is no longer doing lap band because it's not a successful tool for weight loss.  Have been told that the wait list is 18 months (although have a feeling it might be more).

There are plenty VSG'ers here so ask your questions away!

Thanks so much Derek for the information - much appreciated.    Not that I want to eat those types of foods on a regular basis, but yes - to be "normal" and just pop in with a group of friends or my son etc etc etc.

I am most definately ready to make the lifestyle changes that go along with having the Sleeve.    I have been trying some of the tips even now  - sipping water (not gulping),  chewing food for a longer period and so forth.  :-)         Will need to try to eat ONLY 2 nuggets.   LOL   see how that goes.   LOL

Will definately have a look at the vidoes.

:-)

have a good one.

This is amazing, Derek! You've lost almost 120 lbs in 6 months, crazy! And you look so much slimmer on the right side pics, especially since on my screen only half of the picture shows

Congratulations and good continuation! In 8 weeks, I'll squeeze next to you on that losers bench, so you better make room for my big fat ass!

Thanks, Brenda! It feels so great to finally like what I see in the mirror!

Good luck on putting on those 5 lbs, I wish I'll have that same "problem" soon!

Hi everyone! Everyone is doing really great! Ana the new pic is awesome. I didn't notice it before. The weight loss is really showing. Heidi, you will achieve a momentous goal really soon. Being in onederland is the best feeling ever. Derek, you will soon see that things will fall into place. It is a mourning process with food. I do admit that I still have moments that I miss the pleasures that food used to bring me. I miss icecream on hot days and jam on toast in the morning. With RNY I do have more limitations than the sleeve so when I do slip my tummy lets me know. It doesn't happen often but the war isn't won as yet in my case. I am managing to keep the weight off and I am approaching two years! Wow, it has been two years already! I even have to try to gain about 5 lbs as since my new job and long hours my calorie intake is lower. I am down to 145lbs now. Too small for my height and bone structure. I am regret these words but for all the food I am trying to take in I can't put on weight! Apparently the next year I should have a ten percent regain. We'll see. I am going on vacation next week so I'll see you all in the Fall!
