Hi,

My understanding is that Martine is ounce you have met with the doctor. I have completed my request on their website:

http://www.montrealobesitysurgery.com/questionnaire.htm

and yes, I needed a reference from my doctor.

Good luck to your wife.

My wife has overcome her fear of WLS and is thinking about getting sleeved at Sacré-Coeur...I never thought  this could happen. I'm very proud of her and intend to support her all the way in her journey.

I've got a few questions about Sacré-Coeur and the famous Martine:

1) Is this phone number a good one to reach Martine? (514) 338-2222 #3666

2) Is it better (or necessary)  to get a reference from a GP?  How many of you were referred?

Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone.  glad to hear everyone is doing so good.  I am stuck  20 lbs. to go and it won't let go. Now if I did some walking and exercise it would be much better. My blood work is excellent. but I need a new set of knees. Hard to exercise with knees that look like the dog chewed them.  Fell a couple of weeks ago and ended up in Emergency.  Banged my good knee so now I have two bad knees.Anyway I love the new me.  Will have to work harder on the last 20 lbs.  Doris QC.

Hey everyone:

Thanks for your replies.    It just seems like a lifetime away but am hoping it passes by quickly.     I am very nervous about having the surgery and all the changes associated with it but I am positive the VSG will be the most amazing, life changing decision I ever make for myself.   :-)

I have a relatively high BMI but have no co-morbidities so he said I "could" be eligible to have the surgery there at Rockland.     Either is fine with me as long as there is no pain.  (LOL).   riiigghtt.

I go see Dr. Denis every three months and I continuously go to him with a variety of questions to ask him that relate to the surgery and how my life will be afterewards.         Will I eat normally?   Will I have to eat protein shakes for the rest of my life?   Can I go with my son to McDonalds and eat a couple of nuggets or a salad?   LOL    I watch a lot of youTube but at times I find it confuses me more than anything as there are conflicting stories.     - each physician & situation is different I guess.      Some have tons of pain and nausea,  the next person is just fine and dandy.    :-)

Am so anxious to receive a call.  :-)     Will be patient and keep researching.    (I think pretty soon I can probably perform the surgery have watched it being done so much.  LOL)

Take care everybody.   :-)

Hi all,

Well not much changed weight wise for me this week.
I was back at work and back to some of my bad habits, like too much coffee and not enough water.

Still afraid to move around too much, cause of the stones in my kidneys. I'm getting some more removed on Aug. 23rd. So I'll be back on lots of water :)

Congrats to you all that lost or maintained your weight this week.

Have a nice weekend everyone. The weather is supposed to be beautiful.
