Congratulations to all of you on your awesome week.
I am finally down to 229 lbs. YAY under 230.
I think being home after having my kidney stones broken up is hard to stay away from junk food, but I'm drinking lots and lots of water at home.
Have a good week to all.

Congrats Ana and Derek! Today I am 9 weeks out. I lost 3 pounds in the last week, bringing me to 42 pounds lost. I've been working a lot, which is quite physical, so I have been really tired. I did however, meet my first goal. That was to weigh 225 by June 30th; I reached that on June 29th. Yay me!!

Hello everyone!
This is my first post-op "Monday weigh-in", so I'm very excited. I was at 206 on surgery day (June 30th) and I'm at 200 today! They did take my gallbladder and more than half of my stomach out, so I'm sure that's most of it, but, man, it does feel good! I cannot remember when I last weighed that little!
Good job, Derek, can't be easy losing on a long week filled with party and BBQ! I hope I have your willpower when I'm able to eat everything.
Let's keep those numbers going down!

Hey guys!
Happy Monday to you all! I hope you all had a wonderful Canada Day weekend and that the weather was as good for you guys as it was for me. I had a busy weekend mixed with partying, golfing, BBQ's, swimming and hockey! I find that I've been tired lately. Don't know if it has something to do with all the outdoor activities that I've been doing but I find that I'm tired earlier in the day and it is harder for me to get my day started now. Anyone else feel like this? Anyways, on the weight front I have finally lost my dreaded 100 pounds. I lost 3.2 pounds this week. Here's to another great week!
Have a great week everyone!

Topic: RE: Sleeve wait time 2.5 years
Hi hopefully you get a date soon. I had to wait 4 years for my approval. The surgery will take place at The Royal Victoria hospital in montreal. In June I had my pre-op blood tests done and an EKG as well. No sleep apnea was required for me. I have an info session on thursday and start my optifast I would think. NOt sure on that part but will find out more then. Good luck with everything.

Hi Elena,
I had my pre-op blood work done and an ECG done in May. But Martine mentioned wanting to do a sleep apnea test...even though the Dr. didn't request it. She seems very thorough so I guess that it's good that she wants to make sure before I go into surgery, but she hasn't called me yet.
So that makes me wonder when....my file was open in January 2010 at Sacre Coeur so it's been 18 months wait for me so far.
Hope this process speeds up for all of us!!

My weight has also been doing some strange things. TOM craziness I think... Sigh. Anyways I gained almost 10 pounds overnight and was soooo bloated I felt terrible. There were no changes in my diet, except that I have been eating better- which was frustrating. I lost that 10 pounds almost over night again- well it took 2 days. So I am back down to 254.6 pounds. My goal was to weigh 250 by the end of July... hopefully I will be there.
On a more personal note, I am having my IUD removed due to weird complications... I was told I could NOT get pregnant 2 years after the surgery so took the drastic step in getting this thing in the first place. Since I will be moving back to TX, and the weird "common" symptoms I am having it only leaves me with one choice.
Hopefully the removal will help my weight loss along. I also am going to go see my endo dr. soon to re-check my thyroid levels, as I am sure those have changed in the last year as well and I need to see how my goiters are doing, make sure that wont require another surgery soon.

I will be adding a lot more activities to my week when I go back home... I have looked into tap dancing lessons, tai chi, and kickboxing as well! I hope to lose as much on my legs as possible before that surgery which is tentatively scheduled for next summer (pushed back from Feb)
I will miss Canada but hope to be back up here around Dec. time! I will keep everyone up to date with the weigh ins! Don't forget me!!!!

Oh no! I was told 18 months when I saw Dr. Garneau in May and was told the same thing when someone from Sacre-Coeur hospital called me to open my file. I hope it's not 2 1/2 years!
