I know my surgeon and plastic surgeon both test blood samples for nicotine before surgerya nd will refuse patients who have a certain level in their blood... maybe its something other than nicotine... but I know they were quite serious about it.  They said it can cause issues with healing and other serious complications.

When I quit smoking about 6-7 years ago I had done it cold turkey, however I was on an anti depressant Wellbutrin at the time.  Come to find out that they were prescribing that particular medication to help people stop smoking as well.  Maybe it could help...

As a side note, I now can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke and will avoid it like the plague... it leaves me with a taste that makes me think of licking an ashtray... YUCK!  That and the fact that they are so dang expensive keep me well smoke free!  (down in TX when I quit they were $2.75  a pack!  Now they are crazy rediculous in price!)

I wish you luck!

Topic: RE: Tuesday morning weigh-in???
 Hiya all!

I weighed in but the computer wasn't set up until last night!  We moved to the new apartment.  It is bittersweet.  I made sure everything was put away and it feels homey for Simon, since I am leaving in 2 and a half weeks.  The place is safe and comfortable, and I will love coming back to it to visit during this next year.

Anyways, my weight on Monday was down to 254.6.  However, it shot up to 258 the next day... which isnt surprising considering how sore I am!  I know I am retaining water from the sore muscles and over hydration I was trying to acomplish the day before on moving day.  So I am not really concerned.  I should return back to 254 in a day or so, when this water weight is burned off.

So happy losing ya'll!

Way to go Derek!!!  You are doing so amazingly well!  I can't wait to welcome you to the 200s!

Its funny you mention about not feeling lighter.  I mentioned something similar to Simon the other day.  I was carrying a 30 pound bag of dog food and it felt crazy heavy... I was thinking, sheesh I used to carry around me this much more just 3 months ago... I don't really feel the difference... then I thought, I used to ccarry around more than 10 times that much!  If you were to add that to me now, of course I don't think I would be able to even stand up, however back then I felt as I do now... I just took up a bit more space :p

I tried on a large t shirt and was surprised that it fit!  I can remember crying over not being able to fit into 5x clothing once upon a time and praying when I went clothes shopping there would be at least one 6x left in something decent I could wear!

My big goal coming up in to reach 250 by the end of July!  Hopefully I will reach it!  By next Feb I hope to get under 200!  (Thats when I plan on having the 2nd plastic surgery, so I will be trying my best to get to that point!)

Keep doing what you are doing, its working awesomely for you!  For me, I am trying to eat better than I had been and am astonished that when I actually stop the drinking 30 minutes before eating... not just the 20 minutes suggested, that I can actually EAT SOMETHING!  And!  it stays down!  I guess my body just needed more time between eating and drinking!  I can drink 15-20 minutes afterwards... its the before part that gets me.

Hi gang,

Ounce again, I am in Winnipeg. I did not weigh myself this week.

Congratulation Derek, it is a very nice loss.

Cindy, keep up the faith, it will go down again.

Have a great week and I hope the weather is better down there than here.

I am flying with Air Canada, so I am crossing my finger that everything will be resolved by Friday.
