Yes, I was told that Dr. Court will be doing my surgery. I met Dr. Amy Nevelle for the final consultation on January 18th, one week after the information session.

She told me there is a possibility that it will be preformed at Lachine hospital, if there wasn't the operating rooms available at the RVH. And yes its flying by. Dr.Amy Nevelle told me it is no longer that waiting times it used to be. Now the max time you will wait is 1 1/2 years. The waiting time many years ago was very long, but its no longer true. I think I saw somewhere online where the waiting list for the RVH was 10 years, that's what discouraged me. But I am very grateful it is going by so quickly.

I did decide to go with the bypass. I need significant weigh loss of 150lbs.. but for me the Biliopancreatic diversion seems a little to extreme for me.

Topic: Update surgery schedule for Dr. Court at the RVH

Hi everyone, I spoke with marylyn (Dr. Court's secretary) yesterday Jan. 17, 2013 and she told me Dr. Court has scheduled surgeries till the first week of February at the Lachine Hospital and the end of February at the RVH. They will be scheduling more surgeries in the coming week. So for those of us who have been to the info session in December-January, I hope we are in the next batch of scheduled surgeries!

Wow! I'm stunned it is going so fast. Do you know if your chart was given to Dr. D or Dr. Court? Do you know what surgery you are going to have?

That's funny.. I was watching YouTube video's and another women suggested chap stick and body lotion, but I had crossed them off my list. I will re-add them now. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful advice!

Ok, so we can add the protein powder to soup, glad to know we aren't bound to shakes!

Hello,

I was in the hospital for only 24 hours and so didn't even open my overnight bag...the one thing I did use was chap stick...even before surgery just put some on...helps especially since the heaters are on and it's so dry...as well I should have brought some body lotion.

Post-op I had gas...so I found that the gas-x strips helped. Chicken broth was my best friend post-op. I would add it to cream soups to dilute them a bit and I would add Bene-Protein to my soup. Not the best tasting stuff but needed.

With the Crystal Lite you can make popsicles for an added variation to drinking all the time.

Hope this helps a bit and good luck to you!
