Can't not drink after eating
Almost all the people I have heard about *****gained everything did not stop drinking with their meals
It's impossible to drink with your meal if you don't HAVE a drink nearby..... don't have one available, and make moist meals. set a 30 minute timer.
I think this is one of the most important rules out there..

I chased my dreams, and my dreams, they caught me!

I'm confused. Your saying that the people that have regained their weight after surgery is because they drank during their meals? I thought the reason for no drinking was so our bodies would have more time to absorb the nutrients? How would drinking during meals cause you to gain weight. I do not drink a lot during meals but I usually take a sip or two to clean my mouth out.
Drinking with meals washes food out of the pouch. That does not affect absorption because we do not absorb nutrients in our pouch, we absorb them in our small intestine. However, if your pouch empties right away, then the nerves in the pouch tell your brain that you're hungry. If you feel hungry, you'll probably eat more. That's how you can gain weight.

No, you shouldn't drink while eating, but I, too, understand how and why you feel so thirsty. Unfortunately, there is not fast or easy answer. If you take a "sip" now and then, I doubt it would hurt much, but from experience, a "sip" won't satisfy that thirst you say you have. Perhaps take another look at what you're eating. How salty is it? How moist? My NUT told me that after my meals, it would be okay to take an ice cube and suck (not chew!) on it as it melts so slowly, it will help moisten your mouth, but not been too much water to interrfere with your food in the pouch. Sometimes that helps with the thirst, sometimes it doesn't. I have noticed that when I've gotten that horrible thirst feeling while eating, if I do something to distract myself for a minute or two, it does usually go away on its own.
Good luck!!

It was one of the hardest thing for me to do.
I weined myself off slowly. Started with a cup and reduced it slowly until I don't need it anymore. Sometimes when I'm dry before the meal, I'll take a couple of sips, but try to hold off my meal for at least 10 minutes.
Not ideal, but it worked for me.

Before the surgery I kept putting things off. I was never good enough. One of the benefits of WLS is that you start to believe in yourself. Check out my blog:
