Does this happen to you??

When I stand up I get dizzy and feel like I am going to pass out - this has been going on for a long time, not just the last few days or anything.  I thought it was getting up too quickly but I have tried doing it slowly and it doesn't seem to make a difference.  It also happens when I get off of the subway..   This morning I actually did pass out so it has me freaked out and I'm hoping someone here will be able to identify and maybe offer some suggestions of why this happens.

Thanks All!

Sue

Are you keeping up with your vitamins and getting enough protein? Dehydration might play a part too.

I got dizzy if I slacked on my protein, but after I started adding an extra shake a day and increased my liquids I started to instantly feel better.

Thanks for the reply, I think you might be on the right track.  I usually have a protein smoothie at 7 in the morning which gives me 45 grams but by the time I am on my way home at 1:30 is when I have found I have subway trouble.  Maybe I should be bringing a protein snack  to eat instead of waiting until I get home to have lunch.

I am not so great at getting my water in during the morning but I do take my vitamins regularly.

If you actually passed out, then you need to call your doctor right away.  That was on the list of things that I must contact them if it happens, no matter what.  Also, your blood pressure could be low. Have you checked it?

Hi Sue

I'm thinking either low blood sugar or low blood pressure. Perhaps both.

I was taking high blood pressure meds, as I lost weight, I didnt need them, (didnt know that yet) I  was so so dizzy and lightheaded. Since my doc stopped the meds, that doesnt happen to me anymore.  If you're having a shake at 7am and nothing else for a while, it may be your sugar is too low. In any case you should for sure reach out to your doctor ASAP
Good luck

Sue, I had this problem also. One of the biggest issues I had was when I was at the gym, I would get dizzy just walking on the treadmill. What I found was I was not getting enough fluids in. I was actually dehydrated and didn't know it. I also had severe anemia so that didn't help EITHER. You may want to get more fluids.

You really need to call your Dr.  That may not have anything to do with weight loss.

Sounds like it could be your blood pressure. I have had this problem for a while, too. I just started adding a little more salt and it seems to help.
As always, check with your doctor.
