Lab results questions

I got my 3 month lab results back today and I have a question that I'm hoping the experts here can answer

My protein - total is 0.80 mg/dl which the report says is high and it even notes that they ran the test twice to confirm the results...  what does this mean?  Am I taking in too much protein in my diet?

Thanks!

 Hi Sue

Did you get your lab report? Can you tell us what the "normal range" is for the protein levels? Those figures don't match the type of numbers we see in America so I'm not sure how high that number really is.

How much protein are you eating each day? Did you get other labs that would tell us more about your protein levels (albumin and prealbum specifically)?

"normal" total protein level is .6-.8 mg/dl.  So you are just a titch high, if that.

It could be you were a little dehydrated and so it was a false inflation.

I wouldn't worry.
