Pizza
Just had pizza for the first time (6 weeks post-op). It was a small slice of thin crust from Uno's. Went down great! I think a doughy crust wouldn't have been a good choice but thin and crispy was fine. Less carbs too. I helped myself to extra toppings from the other slices to make mine special. So awesome one slice satisfied me when I could have eaten the whole thing pre-op!

I will be 6 weeks this week, and I tried a version of pizza with the crust made out of a whole grain sandwich thin, pizza sauce, motz cheese, turkey pepperoni, and loaded it with veggies. I was only able to eat about half of it, but it was yummy, and I really enjoyed it.
I also made the pizza crust that is here on the board where its made out of motz cheese and eggs. I cut and pasted it into a word doc, but can't remember who I copied it from, its really good too....

Here it is .....
Thin and Crispy Pizza Crust
Heat oven to 450 degrees
In a bowl thoroughly combine
3 eggs
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp basil
press evenly into Pam sprayed pizza pan or cookie sheet
(this makes one 16 inch pizza crust)
Bake at 450 degrees until golden brown (about 10 to 15 minutes)
top with your toppings, then place under broiler.
I avoid all refined carbs and wheat so when I crave pizza I make it with cauliflower. I have also made it with the mushroom cap and it's pretty good, too. http://escapefromobesity.blogspot.com/2010/03/cauliflower-pizza.html

My sister in law manages a Pizza Hut and we are always trying new and fun things with pizza. I like the idea of using the wraps. May have to try that.
At about a month out I couldn't help myself and ate the corner of my child's pizza. It was like heaven in the mouth but my pouch was not too happy with me. Since then I can handle a slice but I know that too much or too thick of a crust will be too much.

im 4 months out today and yesterday I tried some pizza i could only managed two and half bites and then I picked off the toppings.. lol me and bread are not friends anymore unless it is the VERY thin stuff toasted like crazy!! it just all depends on you. I am going to be trying the califlower pizza I have seen on i think both Niks and Eggfaces's site.
I make Eggface's tortilla pizzas a lot or use the flatout wraps and use that in lieu of the tortillas. (I make mine in a skillet vs. a baking sheet--sorta quesadilla like). My favorite is pesto for the sauce, grilled chicken, a little bit of ricotta, fresh moz and sometimes some tomato slices.
We have a place here that makes super thin crust that gets cuts into tiny squares, so if I'm going to have pizza, I hit the salad bar for some cottage cheese, beans, etc, then allow myself one piece of thin crust pizza, then toppings.
I will say that I don't even really enjoy the one slice that I have...it's not the same feeling or taste any more...and if you overdo it, prepare to feel miserable for a number of hours afterward.
If I have any advice for you, avoid anything you previously loved for as long as you humanly can. It's so hard after the honeymoon stage is over. :)
