Can we take Sudafed after RNY?

I'm extremely congested right now and have been for a couple of days. I've taken Robitussen and it has not worked. Everyone is me to take Sudafed or Mucinex. I don't know much about either. Can someone help me out?

Sudafed is listed as a recommended medication for colds in my booklet they gave me for my surgery.  Muccinex and its active ingredients are not listed as ones to avoid.  So I believe you would fine taking both.

Everything is going well.  I have had no complications at all so far.  I go back to the Dr this week to get my first labs done.  We'll see how my iron and vitamin levels are doing then.

Sudafed is definitely okay, and you can take Mucinex but you have to make sure it is the immediate release and not the time release.  Feel better soon.  I am sick right there with ya.  I hate being congested.
