It may be salt and potassium level. Also - helps digestion and alters body Ph - acidity level..

I have always been a vinegar freak--I have about a dozen bottles of different vinegars in my cabinets!

My latest treat is 10 of the Blue Diamond Bold Salt and Vinegar almonds. LOVE LOVE LOVE them! A woman came with about 25 vinegars for us to taste at the support group my surgeon in June and people were drinking an oz straight. YUMMMM!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

As I type this im eating some BBQ i made a few days ago, I take a pork butt and cook it in a cup of apple cider vinegar and a cup of apple juice with some onions and liquid smoke for 6 hours, shred it and put it back in the crockpot with a little more vinegar, and red pepper flakes, let it cook for another hour or 2 and TADAHHH BBQ. Its got a real vinegary taste that I love, and I add BBQ sauce to my husbands. I could eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner, and I pretty much have for the past 3 days .

I wouldn't waste energy trying to figure out why you're craving anything in particular.  There's no relationship between a craving and the nutritional content of that craving because there's no way your body "knows" the chemical make-up of food.

Just enjoy yourself some vinegar.  :)

I crave vinegar now too after surgery...more than before, but i have always LOVED it.  We have cucumbers in vinegar nearly every night with dinner at my house...also, for lunch i just ate a couple of tomato slices with an ounce of mozzarella cheese, basil and balsamic vinegar.  I also recently made some REALLY strong homemade refrigerator dill pickles...so, you're speaking my language!

When did you allow yourself to eat cucumbers?  My booklet says to slowly introduce certain foods and cucumbers is on the list... and with refrigerator pickles, don't you need sugar?? Do you use splenda or you are ok with sugar?  I love cucumbers but I've been afraid to try em.  I'm only 5 weeks post op.
