I think January blues is common and in the old days, I would bake some breads or cookies or a cake and bring it into the office to "share" and come home at night , curl up in a blanket and sit by the fire with the rest of the cookies/bread/cake and a hot chocolate and feel very satisfied....

CARBS......you have 3 more days to do your business...I have not lost any weight either and keeping carbs low is ( for me ) a surprising struggle.....I agree it is easier to count calories than carbs....But I made an amazing discovery yesterday which I am sure you all know about or there is a secret trick that means it has 10000 hidden calories.....unsweetened vanilla almond milk...low cal and low carb and it froths!  30 cals/3 gr of carbs for a cup...(blue diamond)

Soooo

B: decaf coffee with frothed almond milk, 2 veggie sausage links, 1 rice cake, 2 tbls of light boursin cheese

L: 2 poached eggs, smoked salmon

S: 1/2 quest bar

D: 100 grms grouper, salad (no tomatoes which were one of my go to food as they are loaded with carbs...booo!)

S: maybe fat free yogurt and 2 tbls cool whip or a Dairy queen fudgicle

gardening,Yoga, pottery, shopping for exercise!

Have a great day all!

Joan

Unsweetened almond milk for 30 calories a cup is AWESOME - when I was having Syntrax matrix mint cookie shakes for breakfast every single morning, I used that milk.  YUMMO!

I love Boursin cheese but supposedly the container has 5 servings and I can eat the whole thing, so i don't let myself buy it.  It's a shame because 3 containers are like $10 at Costco which is about 1/3 of the normal price!

Hi Anny!  I am sorry the scale didn't move, but for your height you are actually already at such a low weight, so I have a feeling these last 3 lbs are gonna be a ***** to lose :(  Remember the months where we would lose 20 lbs?  Those days are long gone lol

My low carb challenge is going well - day 1 wasn't great, but yesterday my carbs were lower (closer to 70) and today I have a plan to be even lower.  I crave less crap when I eat less crap :) Duh!

For SuperBowl, I am going to an Italian themed party.  There will be stuffed shells, various flatbreads, dessert, wine.  There will also be a MASSIVE cheese and charcuterie board (that I am bringing) and meatballs. I won't be an angel, but nor will I gorge myself.  It makes me want to be extra good this week.

B: The last of the Costco rotisserie chicken salad, a coffee with half and half and Splenda

L: Panera power hummus bowl - I haven't tried this yet but I am going to be working from there for a change of scenery, and because it's around the corner from a Vitamin Shoppe that apparently has Quest bars on sale!  And I have turned into a protein bar hoarder.

S: 3 oz Boar's head turkey with 2 slices of 45-calorie thin pepperjack cheese

D: I am going to a massive happy hour that will inevitably last 5 hours.  I have budgeted to eat tuna and lobster (favorite apps of mine at this bar) as well as 2 or 3 vodka sodas over the five hour time period.  Mostly I will be chatting and catching up with people!

I woke up today to go to the gym and couldn't drag myself there.  I have done strength training classes every day for six days and my body wants a break.  So although I feel slightly guilty, I am not exercising today.

My totals are 1,350 calories, 118 g protein, 50 carbs.  Here's hoping I can hold to it!

OHHHH!  I tried the most delicious thing ever yesterday - the brand is Yasso and I found them in the dessert section at Harris Teeter.  They are frozen greek yogurt bars.  Sea salt caramel!  A bar has 100 calories, 16 carbs, 7 protein.  And the taste is INCREDIBLE.

I have seen the Yasso bars but never looked at the stats!  I definitely will check them out now!  THANK YOU!

You will not regret it...I mean, I guess all tastes are personal, but I have tried Skinny Cow things, Weigh****chers things, Breyer's Carb Smart things...and most of them have a "fake ice cream" sort of taste, and little to no protein.  These Yasso bars are honestly delicious and feel like a great treat, but have protein too.  They seem to have a chocolate peanut butter flavor which is my FAVE so I have to track those down.  They also have mint chip.  HOLLER!  ha ha

Em

Those Yasso bars maybe just what I need when I want ice cream, sounds yummy.  Haven't seen them, but I don't go down that part of the freezer section often, too much junk calling to me.  I will go to try these though, thanks for the tip

OK, I'm totally going to buy those bars now.  I've seen them but I have no idea why I never even looked at the stats.  I mean, I've bought the WW and Skinny Cow stuff and it's in the same case!

Love the power bowls from Panera, but my new fave from there is the quinoa miso bowl with a cage free egg. Serious delicisiousness.

Good morning all!  My family decided since our beloved Packers aren't in the Super Bowl we were going to have a movie night with apps instead.  I'll likely put out a cheese and sausage tray, make deviled eggs for my boys, and we'll have everyone make their own mini bagel pizzas (I'll use a flat-out).  We have been hooked on the Avengers movies lately so I'm sure its time for another one ;)

I realized on the way to work this morning that after my weigh-in this morning I am only 0.8 lbs away from 90 lbs lost!  It is totally blowing my mind.  When I started this process I knew I would lose weight but I never actually thought I would lose this much.  I am so thankful for surgery and the opportunities it has given me.  I have so much more energy and am so much more confident.  I just wish I had done it sooner.

Time since surgery: 6.5 months

B: SF Latte and 1/2 flat out and 1/2 a chicken sausage

S: Coffee with whole milk and SF syrup

L: 1/2 Chicken Sausage and string cheese

S: Lay's Baked Potato Chips (I have been dying for chips lately so I stole one of the little bags my kids take for lunch - portion control!)

D: Tuna noodle casserole (extra tuna for this girl)

W/V: Started

E: It is supposed to be my rest day but I am going to try to do something because I have been lazy all week.

Have a great day all!
