I use Miralax also. I am pretty regular. I mix it in my Crystal light you have no idea that it's in there. Check with your doctor if this is okay.

I know if I let my water intake slip even a little bit I get well and truly blocked up!  Make sure you get ALL of your water in.  It makes a BIG difference! - Good luck with this one! It's been one of my biggest struggles.

I'm the abnormal one that Miralax doesn't work on.  I take a dose of Benefiber A.M and P.M.  I also take about 1000 mg Magnesium Oxide daily and I eat Greek yogurt every day for the active cultures and pro-biotics.  But the most important thing in regards to constipation is your daily fluid amount.  If I don't drink at least 120 ounce, I get constipated.  Make sure you are drinking enough. 64 ounces is the MINIMUM required amount recommended.

Smooth Moves tea is good but honestly Miralax was my lifesaver and a daily stool softener.

THIS by far is the worst after effect of surgery of anything I have dealt with.

You are Canadian I see...we have Senokot here. You can get it over the counter at a pharmacy....they have regular or Senekot S (the S means it has a stool softer in it as well). You can also get a prescription for it from your doctor if you have insurance that will cover it. In the beginning I struggled...also ended up having to go to the ER...VERY unpleasant. After that I started taking 2 x Senokot 8.6 mg at night before bed and now I just take it every 3 days or so.

If I am taking any kind of pain medicine, I also take 2 dulcolax (also available over the counter or by prescription) to counter act the constipation caused my the medicine. According to my pharmacist they are 2 very different kinds of constipation and adding fiber to constipation caused by pain medicine could just make it worse. NOW.....I almost never take the dulcolax because my system seems to have mostly regulated itself. I DO feel your pain though. Ask about Senokot, it will help a lot =)

Be careful with this as it comes as a laxative with stool softener as well. The nurse at the clinic I went to told me not to use it unless its an emergency as it will cause your bowels to become lazy. It forces them to basically spasm and if you have it too often, your bowels won't work on their own.
