Signed up for my first half marathon-what did I just do!?!?!?

Hi, I've run several half marathons. I have a sleeve and not the RNY, but I don't eat a lot of carbs and have found the times I did eat more carbs before running I usually ended up getting jittery after a couple of miles. What works best for me is to just continue to eat normal and on race day I carry a Quest bar and try to take a bite every mile or so. I think my body is adapted to running on fat and I haven't had any problems with this so far.

I also always drink water at the water stations! If its really hot out I will take Gatorade, but I don't like to since I never know how I'm going to react to it.

Good luck on your race. If you can run 9 miles then you can run 13.1. It's all mental!
