Can someone that is on "Regular foods" please post a typical menu for a day? Also, probably a bad idea but I have been reading some of the posts on the WLS gone wrong board. Does anyone know the statistics of stretching our your pouch? Is it easy to do? How do you do it? I am still researching this surgery and stretching out my pouch is my biggest fear!!! Thanks

This is my meal plan for today. This is packed with me at work. I am 10 weeks out and am still not allowed a few kinds of foods (bread, nuts, etc.) Restrictions vary depending on your surgeon and nutritionist. Meal 1 - 1 egg over medium (approx. 2 oz.) Meal 2 - 1/2 peach (canned no sugar added) and cottage cheese (4 oz.) Meal 3 - 2 oz. turkey chili w/ 1 oz 2% cheddar cheese Meal 4 - Protien bar Meal 5 - ??? (Probably the protien and vegetable of what I make for dinner) I will have a protien shake before I leave for the gym today and 64 oz. of water throughout the day. The key to not stretching your pouch is measuring your food. Believe me, if you eat more than your pouch can hold, you will REALLY feel it. I have done this when eating away from home. It is not a great feeling. I have had to learn to stop when I feel satisfied, not full. Once I am full it is too late and I am miserable. It doesn't take much to be full and I am never really hungry because it seems that I am constantly eating or drinking something all day long. This is only MY experience. Hope it helps. Kathy

Here's my typical menu: Breakfast: 4 oz of sugar-free yogurt with 1 tablespoon of walnuts "Snack": 1 cup of decaf coffee with one scoop of Unjury vanilla powder. Lunch: 3/4 cup homemade chili (low fat, with ground turkey and three kinds of beans) "Snack": Protein bar Dinner: Varies a great deal -- some steak and asparagus, or half a beef and bean burrito, or egg drop soup, or more chili, or cheeseburger (minus the bun). I get over 60 grams of protein with the breakfast, lunch, and snacks, so however much protein I get for dinner keeps me covered. I don't know much about stretching the pouch -- but I'd agree that the key is learning portion control. Eating too much will make me miserable for several hours, and I learned quickly to avoid it. Hope this helps! Lisa
