I just wanted to give a quick update. Tonya and I visited with Dawn last night and she was not in good spirits. She started seeing blue dye coming from her drain yesterday. Dr. Bour felt like the leak was at the bottom connection with the intestines. Dawn had not had any blue coming out until yesterday. So this is something new. Tonya and I stayed with Dawn and her husband for quite a while ( I hope we didn't wear out our welcome). Dr. Bour ha been out of town for the past 2 days, but was supposed to be back last night and told Dawn he would see her this morning. I will call her a little later and see what he has said. As soon as I know, I will post. Please continue to pray for her. She is regretting ever having the surgery and is so down. She needs our continued love and support. Her husband even commented on the fact that she has a "fan club" that he didnt' even know about. When he said that she smiled. I know that everyones love and support means a lot to her. Melissa

Hey Melissa Prayers are being sent right now for Dawn. Be sure to let us know what Dr. Bour has to say. It almost sounds like they are going to have to do surgery again to repair the leak. But tell Dawn to hang in there.....they will get it fixed and she will be feeling better soon. Hugs, Dianne

Hi Dianne I talked to Dawn this morning and Dr. Bour had already seen her. He said her WBCs ( white blood cells...which show infection) were normal today:. He looked at her dressing over the drainage site and said if there was any leak, it was very small. He questioned the fact that there was a leak there. He said the drainage was more greenish like infection. He told her to have her husband bring her some clear liquid protein because he was going to start her back on clear liquids today. I have just made her some protein jello and am going to take it as soon as it is ready. He said if she is doing well she will probably be able to go home the day after tomorrow. He said she will be fine, it is just going to be slower. She sounded better this morning. I will post this afternoon when I get back from seeing her!! Melissa

That's good news that her WBC is normal and that the drainage appears to be more from the infection draining than from an actual leak. I know that Dr. Bour will stay on top of it and get her back to feeling better. Melissa you are such a good friend to take care of her like you do. Thanks for keeping us updated!! Hugs, Dianne

Whew! I was getting so worried. I knew she absolutely did not want to go back in for surgery. I hope she gets her strength and spirits back up soon. This has got to be so frustrating for her! Send her my love. Kathy

Thanks for the update on Dawn. I called her room yesterday afternoon and spoke with her husband. She did not feel like talking at all, which is SO understandable. I am glad that Dr Bour is on the case and will have her up and around in no time. Let her know I am praying for her and I can't wait to see her soon. I know the Lord is going to take care of her and bring her through with flying colors! Dawn's fan, Pam Love you all....
