My in-laws are in town and staying with me.
Don't get me wrong, we have fun when we are out doing things, but take all my hubby's habits that grate on my nerves and mutliply them by 3.
Plus I am supposed to decide what we are having and prepare dinner when I go to work everyday while everyone is on vacation. I eat only 4 oz. for goodness sake! And I get sick off chicken and have not been able to eat fish. But it is my job to come up with a dinner for 7 people from the groceries they bought WITHOUT me that doesn't include red meat, dairy and includes something for the vegetarian.
Of course, eating out everyday for 2 weeks is not in the budget. I ordered pizza last night and PAID for it. I only ate the toppings off of one slice. So unfair!
Somebody shoot me.

Every year it is the same thing. I always think that by the time they leave, we will not be on speaking terms becasue I might say something stupid.
It hasn't happened so far. Hopefully it will be ok.

Well, they also live out of state. But they come every summer and stay for 2 weeks.
There are usually more people, but they left 2 of the kids at home.

God you are going through a trying time. How inconsiderate.
One of the guys I work with has his in-laws staying with him for the next 3 weeks. Problem in his wife left Sunday for a trip to Scotland for the next 2 weeks.
They expect him to work, check out houses for them to buy, come visit each house with them and feed them.
On top of this, before their darling daughter left for Scotland, the 3 of them (minus the only breadwinner) went to the recreational vehicle place and very nearly bought their daughter a boat. They even had the nerve to try to upgrade his Blazer to a vehicle with enough HP to pull the damn boat.
If I was him, I'd just tell them to go home.
Jeez, some people's parents.

Ok, I'll quit complaining now! Some people have it worse than me!
Kathy

Morning, Kathy!
At least your in-laws come to you. We have to pack up all three kids, the dog and kitchen sink just to see any of our parents. We're considerate, though. We take drinks and snacks for the kids, buy groceries when we get there and always pay for our meals if we eat out. I always cook and clean up. Visiting with parents is NOT vacation. My DH's mom always wants something huge done that she can't get her husband to do all year long. But....they do mind their business throughout the year. They never complain about me or how we raise the kids. They're just in-laws.
Hugs,
Melony

Well, we go to them too.
But we are their Vacation every year. They do buy some groceries (We couldn't afford their special diets anyway.) but I am expected to do all the labor. I work all week and they sit at home all day and do fun stuff. (I can't take 2 weeks off because I need some time to visit my family, who is also out of state.) I almost feel like I work for them and they are at a resort. Grrr...
And while I am not "judged" I get a lot of "helpful suggestions."
I could go on and on, but I won't. You guys would start throwing rocks at me.
Kathy
