ATTN ALL SMOKERS....
I have started a smoking quit day for everyone who is interested and needs accountability!!! Marcey said at the meeting Monday night that she would quit with me this Sunday, so Im gonna hold her to it
LOL Sunday is our last day of smoking, FOREVER! .. WE have made a step for ourselves to live healthier, and here we are smoking cancer sticks?!?! WHAT are we thinking??? I already have another lady who has joined the Smoke Free Monday with us, but she will be anonymous.. Anyone else interested in quitting??? Now is the time to do it! Throw away those cigs!!! Buy some Sugar free gum and chew chew chew!!! Once we get past day 1, day 2, and day 3 it will be downhill from there!!!! Ive done it three times before, and I am doing it once again for my last time! We can get through this together.. Life is too precious to waste any time on a cigarette!!! So, Come out of your hiding shell, and admit it to everyone YOU ARE A SMOKER, AND YOU WILL BE A QUITTER!!!! LOL Love yall
Jen

I'm not a smoker ... but wanted to wish you and Marcey and "anonymous" all the best as you begin this process next week.
I love the smell of cigarette smoke (I know that's a strange thing for a non-smoker to say), but after watching my Dad's health decline (he had COPD, starting when he was only 52 years old, and progressing until he passed away, struggling for every breath at the too-young age of 69), I could never smoke without remembering the moments I spent at his hospital bedside while he died 12 years ago. He spent the last 17 years of his life painfully paying for every cigarette he smoked in his younger years. His family had to pay, too. We miss him so much.
Everybody thinks it won't happen to them, I guess.
Sorry to get all morbid on you, and I sure do hope I didn't come across as "preachy", because that is not my intention. My baby sister smokes, my husband's whole family does too, and I will never judge ANYONE ... too many skeletons in my own addiction closet!! (Under all those empty wine bottles and Krispy Kreme boxes
...)
I know this will not be a fun thing for the three of you. I have read and heard others tell how it's the hardest thing in the world to do. So I do send you ALL my moral and spiritual support ... and if I can do anything physically to help you, just let me know! And it's just like our weight loss efforts ... the secret to success is NEVER giving up. A slip-up here and a mistake there does not mean you have failed. Just begin again, right?
Jennifer, my sweet ... if GREAT attitude is what it takes, you already have the addiction beat!!! I am very proud of you.
Dawn
