update for my follow up

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that i had my follow up visit today for my hernia repair and TT.. He removed half my stiches and the other half will come out next week, he also took my drain out! Everything is healing well so far.. but he's really being careful. Because i had an horizontal incision for my wls some major muscles were cut through and he's worried that some skin may die off but so far it's healing well! He wasn't able to pull me as tight as some because i have been prone to hernias(this was the third one)and he thinks if it was to tight i may have ended up with another one in the future, and also because of the previous horizontal insicion the muslces are very weak and the blood circulation is not as good now. But you know he took off lots and the sweeling is feeling better and it looks much better too so i'm really thankful! Maybe i won't be in a bikini but my clothes will fit much better and so will a really sexy one piece suit! I'm only a week out and my jeans fit already so imagine another few weeks! He also said the hernia was much worse than he thought and my bowels were protuding into it so that was a disaster waitting to happen! Thank God everything is going good .. please pray that i don't have any problems with necrosis(skin dies off) but so far it's looking good! love Darquise P.S. i know there are other who have had horizontal incision and have had no problems like this..but this is the way it's working out for me.

I was wondering about your surgery since I met you last week, I am glad it went well, I am thinking about doing that next year, but I cannot remember how far out you said you were. Congrats on the new you!!! patti

Hey Darquise! Thanks for the GREAT update on what's happening with you ... sounds like the timing of the surgery was perfect, based on that hernia, and the bowels about to cause major problems! Thank God! Keep on doing what you're doing ... you'll be 100% before long at all! Dawn
