Wanting to know!!!!!

I am considering having the lap band surgery, amd was wondering from the day you finish your initial appointment how long did it take for you to get approved and get a surgery date. Also, I have lung disorder called Sarcoidosis and was wondering if anyone else has this disorder or some other lung disorder and got approved. Any information or advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. Mark C.

Sorry, had the RNY so can't answer specifically (no lung disease either). Have you asked this question on the LAP forum as well?

Hey mark, I am a severe asthmatic and have had my surgery consult for RNY not lap band. I'm in the process of getting approval from ins. Co. I don't know if you've had any prior surgery procedures but check w/ the anesthesiologist re: sedation and post op pain meds. My anesthesiologist gave me a pca of fentanl after my hysterectomy and had none of the expected side effects. Good luck and God bless. Donna
