Plastics Approved

I just checked Tricare's webiste and my tummy tuck has been approved!!! I had the same emotions this morning when reading that the TT was approved as I did when I read the RNY was approved. Just wanted to share!! Britt

Britt--I'm so happy for you and congrats... Could you please tell me what your symptoms were if any, and what you did to get your TT covered.. I have an MD appt with my PCM on Wed...to discuss a TT and breast reduction and I'm discouraged b/c people all say you can't get TT to cover a TT unless you have a hernia.. Hook a girl up with some information and encouraging words before my appt... heather

Don't be discouraged, Ms Heather ... I've heard from several who have been in Germany who say it is easier to get plastics approved for active military family members overseas than in the States. Also, they say that the off-base surgeons are fantastic. God bless you ... Dawn & Nick

That is true Dawn!! I read a Tricare paper online somewhere...telling docs how to get their patients approved for plastics off base overseas....hmmmm, can't they do that for USA patients??? I am going to a consult on Oct. 2nd with a doctor who will do financing, no not in Mexico, but here in CA. He is a professor with plastics at USC Davis, so he is good. I knew there had to be docs who would finance this. Tricare will not approve me, but I am going to try again....and re-submit just for the tummy tuck and thigh lift. Love ya! Deb

Does the fact that you have Standard instead of Prime have anything to do with your denial? I know that Standard won't cover GB, but Prime will. Let us know about the USC Davis doc! God bless you ... Dawn & Nick

It only gets better from here! The crazy thing for me was that I was more nervous when it came time to my first round of plastics than I was for my RNY. Now I'm an old pro....... Congrats!
