SHOULD YOU EAT WHEN YOUR NOT HUNGERY?
I'm so glad to have you back on the boards and to see you state this so well. The more recent classes of post-ops are not getting as much nutritional counseling at MUSC or apparently at Beaufort as we did and this way of eating is not being stressed to them. I went down with Sandy for her evaluation and there is much more a sense of herding people through the process. I feel like an old hard*** when this subject comes up at our meetings. They think I'm a real killjoy, but I'm just so concerned about their health and success. They say they've been told they can eat absolutely anything they want, just in small amounts. I don't feel like I should argue with what they've been told, but I know what has worked for myself and other successful losers. I want the same for them and to help them avoid potential temptations and trouble spots. Glad you're feeling better!
Love, B
Glad we're both back, Ms B!!!!!!!
I know ... There needs to be more emphasis on wise eating decisions because we didn't get this big by having a good grasp on healthy eating, but many of the GB practices are short-changing their patients by emphasising the benefits of the surgery & not emphasising what the patient has to change to stay successful long-term once the pouch has lost it's effectiveness.
God bless you ... Dawn & nick
PS: Hope to see you tonight, if you're feeling up to it. Nick was asking about Mr Cecil ... It's been a while!
