surgery again!
A week after i had my hernia and TT i started passing blood.. found out that it's because of a large kidney stone. I went to a urologist in Greenville and he says it has to come out... my date is on Sept 29th he said it would be sooner because it needs to come out asap but Greenville Memorial doesn't have any openings before then. I was planning to go visit my kids and my grandchild in Ontario but now i won't be able to so, i'm pretty upset about that. He says i could have some serious attacks any time so stay close to home and he gave me some demerol just in case! Ugh! i'm so frustrated!!
i just want to go into hidding
thank God you are all here!
love Darquise

Hello Darquise,
Been there, done that! I just had a CT scan yesterday because of the severe pain and thought I was passing more stones again. It was negative thank God, but now we think it is either severe constipation or a partial intestinal blockage.
Kidney stones hurt like crazy!! If it gets dislodged and works its way down, you will wish you were having triplets instead!!! I hope you can pass it before the surgery. Mine were 5mm big, and the last one, (had 3 bouts of stones) was 3mm.
I was on dilaudid...very good drug and phenergan. The first time it happened I thought I was major constipated and was pushing like crazy on the toilet and could not understand what the heck was going on. Then we figured out it was a kidney stone while I was in the back of the ambulance. I thought then it was intestinal blockage.
Stay home and drink, drink, drink...that is the best way to try to keep it from lodging and now we find out stones are a side effect for some people after surgery....keep drinking!!! I also took flomax, which was for prostates in men, but it opens up the ureters and allows stones to pass. How big is yours? It might be too big to pass.
Take care of yourself and still drink lots and lots!!
CHEERS!! Drink Up!!
Deb

hi Deb.. yeah been doing the drinking thing but the doc told me yesterday there's no way it will pass.. it's over 8mm soooooo not much choice there. My sister in law just told me sometimes they leave a stent in for 7 to 10 days so you can pass the stones afterward! yikes!!
I hope your feeling much better..

So sorry Darquise! You just can't seem to get away from those surgeons!
Tell them this is the last time they are allowed near you , so they might as check while they are in there if anything else needs fixing...
8mm wow! I can't even imagine it. I hope you aren't in too much pain before your surgery.
Take care of yourself.
Let us know if you need anything.
