I'm glad to know your home, but hate hearing your having a rough time. I was planning on coming to see you yesterday after work, but I was so sick with a sore throat and head cold, that I left work early, came home and went to . I didn't want to risk giving you what I have. The pain will get better and better everyday, just take it easy and try not to let it get you down. The head hunger, I can sympathize with you on that, since I started the optifast yesterday. It hasn't been as bad today but I still want to eat something good besides just drinking this stuff 5 times a day and look forward to my one small meal now. At least I like it OK, so that makes it a little easier, it just doesn't last long in the old belly. Anyway,I hope you get to feeling better really soon. and can join us at one of the next meetings. I have been thinking about you everyday and praying that everything turns out good for you. Just remember all the benefits to this and how great you will look and feel, and I know, its hard to picture feeling good this soon after surgery, but you will. Take care Rachel! Mary

Glad to see you made it home. Welcome to the losing side I agree sip, sip, sip. Not sure what to do about the pain at the drain site except maybe some tylenol or the pain meds they sent you home with. I remember I was very uncomfortable and felt yucky too until it came out. Hugs Julie

Awww Rachel! The first week is always the worst. You only have few more days of the icky part left. You are probably bloated and full because of gas. All I can say is walk around and keep moving as much as you can. It will help the gas move out. You'll feel better. Fight the head hunger, believe me there is nothing that tastes good enough in the world to be worth the way you feel when you get sick or to risk damaging your pouch. The drain part was the worst for me. It always seems to end up right in the fold of your skin and gets really irritated. When it comes out it will be instant relief. Its only temporary, you just have to get through it. I took the pain meds I got when I got home pretty regulary. I ALWAYS took one before I went to bed so I could get a decent nights sleep. And most of the time, it was because of the drain. Keep sipping, keep moving, use your pain and nausea meds if you need them. Rest and stay away from the food channel. You'll do great. You've done it! It will be worth it. I promise! Kathy

I am so glad you are home.. Sorry I didn't come and see you. I have a child home sick with Strep! Sip...sip...sip. i know you are bloated, but keep sipping. Walking like Kathy said will help. They pump you full of fluids in the OR and full of gas to do the surgery laproscopically. MOvement will help get the gas out. Not too much advice for the drain. It will be uncomfortable, just take your meds and hopefully that will help. Let me know if you need anything thing!!! I have been thinking about you!!! Melissa

How did you get through the drain pain? Does it get better as time goes on? When will I feel like walking from one fom to the other without feeling like a horse kicked me in the gut. When does all the bloat go away? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Rachel
