I'm home
WOW that was fast!!!
I can't believe you are post op already!!!!
Where does the time go??
Okay, I had to take wellbutrin to help with my head hunger, and I got the tabs and crushed them in applesauce.
Are you doing the pureed foods?? We were on pureed foods right out of surgery until 4 weeks, then soft/solids.
Do runny grits with water and cheese and protein powder, it will help and I also did runny oatmeal...everything has to be the consistency of applesauce, but runny.
I did ricotta cheese with a splash of pizza quick sauce (lowest sugar) out there, and bits of mozerella, pop in micro. for 20 secs and its bubbly, hot and like lasagna...I would also add my protein powder to that too.
BUY some Any Whey protein powder, its the best and its totally tasteless, and totally dissolvable and you love
love it!!!
Congrats, and best of luck to you, you will do great!!
head hunger sucks, and most soups made me sick cause it was too much sodium or fat or sugar.
Refried beans mixed with warm water and it was good, and runny, thick, so you get full faster.
Take care of yourself, and don't ru****!! PS, I licked the HECK out of a few doritios for flavor the first week or so...haha

Rachel,
YOU know the plan from the dr.. dont deviate from that from advise from people here that do not go to him.. He's doing whats best for you right now.. I know I wasnt the ample patient at the beginning, and i did some things i wasnt supposed to, but looking back now in a good state of mind,i was stupid as hell! I told u how bad my head hunger was.. My advise is get out of the house like you said, get a wheelchair at garden ridge or something, try to walk some of it, and ride.. The drain wasnt VERYYYY Painful, if yours is then u might wanna call? Mine was just what i called my pain in my side(azz) lol.. literally it hurt the whole time, it just gets better when everything is healing. trust me IT WILL GET BETTER!!!! STAY AWAY FROM FOOD.. DO NOT let them eat in front of you! I know how hard it was for me, and were alot alike.. If you need to talk John has my number.. call me! Id love to talk to you, I didnt have anyone to talk to that was mourning food like me, with everyone else they were fine with it. BUT SERIOUSLY like Dr.R says You can mourn food like a lost friend! BUT remember, that friend will be back soon before you know it!! And even eventually when u feel able u might be able to try some of those "bad" ones again.. but by then you wont want but a bite, then it wont be as good to ya anymore. trust me! Love ya girl.. you can do this!!!!!!

I won't deviate from Dr. Bour's plan...don't worry. I found the unjury in jello is tolerable for now. So, I am getting that in. The food mourning is hard but I'm making it. I don't let them eat in front of me so it doesn't tempt me. Mom has been great about it but John and my sister sat down and munch some cheese its last night. Mom got really pissed at them. I'm doing better right now. I'll call if I need to talk. Thanks for being there.

Hi Rachel,
I am brand new to this message board. And I would only come to read. I never posted. I planned on it , just time got away from me.
I came here today to see if anyone else had any advice on how i am feeling.
I was shocked to see your post. Because you said the exact 2 things I am feeling.
I feel so bloated. It almost hurts to sip water.
Then my darin site feels warm and stings. I keep taking my temp and it is normal . It is not red or anything so I am doubting that it is infected.
Since the symptoms they told me to look for are not what I am having. I didn't want to call and be a hypochrondriach (sp)
My mom flies out on Sunday. So I am just a little scared that something will happen and i won't have anyone here to help . My husband is in the military and is currently in Afghanistan. We have 3 children . They are a little older though. 13, 10 and 8. So They can be self sufficient with guidance from me . And can help me alot.
I think my biggest fear is going septic. And worried that the bloating and the drain site soreness was part of that!
I feel a little better now thinking that it might just be normal!
Keep up the hard work , I have no interest in food and have no problems watching anyone else eat. ( yet that is )
I feel like it is a chore to make anything to eat. I waste alot because of how little I end up eating. But it's still worth it to me.
My surgery was on Mon Oct 2nd. So this is my 4th day. I don't get my drain out until Tuesday morning.
You just don't know how much I can't wait for that!!!!
I know this is TFI question? But , is the gas you end up passing from having Lap RNY supposed to be so foul. Worse than any gas I have ever smelled in my life?
Another worry i guess! lol
Thanks for all the support from everyone!
Hugs
Corrie
Dr Morgan was my surgeon and I loved her to death!
You sound like you are pretty normal with the drain site and you sound like you are doing great all around. I have heard that the gas after surgery is terrible. I don't think I have gotten rid of all of mine yet. Mine isn't that stinky yet but I have been warned that it will be!!! So I would say that you are normal. Hang in there I hear from others that each day gets better. E-mail me or call me if you need to. 864-814-0693

I can only speak from plastic surgery experience since that is all of my most recent stuff. Gas-X or Phazyme will help with the gas and be sure that you have your drains pinned to your clothes so that they are not putting pressure on your incision sites. It will help with the pain if there is no pull on the site.
