Hello I'm New

Hello Everyone, I have heard what a great resource this is. I need all the support I can get. I will be having my surgery on November 8th in Greenville, SC. I understand there is a group that meets in the Greenville area. Is there any way I can get to be apart of that. Also, are there any helpful hints or words of advice yall have for me? It would greatly be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi Cynthia, I am so excited for you on your upcoming surgery! I am very new also and just found out about the group and met all the girls this past week. I was overwhelmed at the welcome I received and in witnessing the love and support a group of people can share. I read your profile and understand you may be a little nervous but I feel that you have much to look forward to: First of all, you have a great doctor. Dr. Bour is awesome and you will do fine! Second of all, you will definitely find a lot of support here on line and with the Greenville area support group. They are GREAT! I am sure you will be hearing from all of them soon with more info on how to join them. I want to wish you the best of luck. I know you will do fine! Kathleen Bacon

Hey Cynthia Yes, we have a group that meets in the upstate. In the past we have met every monday after Dr. Bour's meetings but now I think we are just meeting every 2 weeks. However, I am still up for going out to eat somewhere after the meeting Monday night if anyone else is??? We would love to have you. We always have a blast!! Rachel

Hi Rachel, That would be great. Unfortunately, I won't be at Dr. Bour's on Monday. I teach a Sex Ed class on Monday nights. It gets out at 7:30 and I could meet yall somewhere if you just let me know where. I'd love to get together with yall. ~Cynthia

Hey Cynthia, this is Mary from your optifast meetings. I'm glad to see you have joined OH. I know you will love this site and really love all the people from our support group. If you have any questions, and we all do, this is the place to be. The girls and guys in the support group are wonderful so we will more than welcome you to join us. Just keep watching on here and they always post when and where we are meeting after Dr. Bours meeting. I will see you at the Monday meetings, I'm sure, and can introduce you to everyone. Last Tuesday was my last optifast meeting, so I won't see you for a while. Good luck on your surgery and keep us posted on how everything goes. Hugs! Mary

Thanks to ALL of you who have welcomed me. Before I felt like I was alone going through this because I don't have a support person at home, however, it looks like I have found some great friends that will help me get through this.
